Notch reveals new mob for Minecraft 1.8

Looks cool, I can't wait for the next update.

You know it's going to be annoying if these guys can build and they end up building over something I was building, or taking it apart for materials.

Maybe these guys are the ones who fix all the things the Creepers blow up, cause it kind of looks like they're building a beach.

Ok, that's just, plain, creepy.

Y'know what it reminds me off? Those creepy alien things in Majora's Mask that you have to fend off and if you don't they kidnap the dairy owners sister. *shudders* It's the eyes.

And after looking up on minecraft wiki I can't even fob it off as miss-direction from the dev team (i.e. it might have been a temporary skin for NPCs or something)

It will never be safe to go on normal mode again!

So how about this, it can pick up a block, but it won't drop it until it does, it can't attack you with or without something in it's hands, and it goes towards light sources even though it can't spawn next to them. Finally, a use for a castle. I hope Notch adds invasions of mobs.

Problem 1: Endermen want to steal my blocks
Problem 2: Someone's dug a series of pits around my camp and filled them with burning Netherrack

Problem Solved!

(Works against ogres, I figure it'll work against these buggers, Netherrack is way better than lava for this sort of thing, it's cheaper and safer!)

But you can't legitimately get Netherrack online since the portal doesn't work in multiplayer. Hacks or OP can alleviate it but ehh point made.

Lava Moat Wins.

At least until I can construct automated turrets or ballista.

Yeah, Notch fixed the nether in smp. Of course, the server i play on turned it off because of lag

oh great i got the peacefull animals having a party in my house, messing with my door controls and railway system, the creepers blowing up a sides of my main castle. and now i'm gonna have these creepy buggers taking everything i make apart. i'm not scared just annoyed by every A.I. that's messing with anything i do.

Ok the my next house will be floating in the middle of the air. Surrounded by sea. With death traps in every corridor. With only one entrance. Which is hidden.
I hope these buggers can't use levers or open doors. Or even worse: be able to use pick apart stone or brick walls.

And that's another reason I don't play Minecraft anymore; I can't see anything at night. I can't even see the ground when I go out in the blocky woods at night. As for the mob, it adds a creepy vibe to the night.

well..seems like I have to fortify my Island of fiery death so it has even more fire...

Lava surrounding my island..but if these guys can jump over it..I'm making a 2 or possible 3 widht block wall of netherrack around my island...keep them suckers out.

I hope they don't de-construct or build stuff over my stuff though..would be just annoying -.-

Eh,I don't really see the problem yet.With their posture and their glowing eyes they remind me of robots,and sand robots are not that big of a deal in my opinion.Though I am looking forward to meeting them in 1.8.
