Meh. CoD is dead to me. If they make something so shiningly perfect it's impossible to ignore, I'll try it, but if they keep going down the road they are heading I won't bother.

Agree. Well, they don't ALWAYS deliver IMO. I enjoyed the older BF games, I don't like the direction the newer went, with smaller maps, less players and not being able to crouch OO. But it seems like they are taking back old territory with BF3, so I'm excited about it =).
You can't crouch in the newer games?, thats madness, what do you do when the all important opportunity of tea bagging arises?.

I've never liked Treyarch myself, or IW for that matter, I can stand IW because the response from the guns has a tactile feel to it that Treyarch just barely got right with CODWaW.
You can crouch, but you cant go prone, is what he meant.
Suki is a she, but yeah she told me the confusion.

I'm pretty sure in Halo 1 you couldn't crouch, or maybe lean I can't remember!

Is there any console game you can lean in?

I had Halo on the PC, so I was like "WTF" when I couldn't lean.

Over the years I've come to except that I wont be able to lean.

I loved world at war. It had a better story than the other WW2 cod titles. At least you were actually making progress and not just "Kill everything till they say the war is over".

Granted that's what the war was, but keep it interesting, yeah?

I love how lots recommend jumping ship to Battlefield... it's got just as many problems as MW2, they're just different ones. And it seriously doesn't help that EA's involved.

People complain about noob-tubers in MW2. You have CG-spammers in BF:BC2.
People complain about small maps in MW2. By the time you've got a full 32 players in BF:BC2, the maps get pretty small (with the rare exceptions - e.g. Atacama Conquest).
People complain about campers in MW2. Wait until you're playing Attackers on BF:BC2 Rush, with yourself and a team of 15 'snipers' barely leaving the spawn.

There are OP / UP weapons in each game. There are some downright BROKEN things. There are forum whiners EVERYWHERE. There are cheaters in both games. There are cheap tactics in both games (mostly because nobody can agree on what constitutes 'good sportsmanship').

So yeah... BF:BC2 is just as flawed. Don't wave it around as an example of awesome, please.

Closest to awesome was Planetside. And even that was plagued by hackers, bugs and devs that didn't listen.

Honestly? Infinty Ward is a write-off. Treyarch is the superior CoD developer now. Deal with it, etc.

I quite like treyarch. Looking forward to black ops on the Wii (holds up flame shield).

World at War is the best game in the Call of Duty series. I'm not sure how anyone can call them unoriginal. Levels like CoD 3's the Mace, and WaW's Blowtorch and Corkscrew, Vendetta, Downfall, Burn 'em Out and Eviction were wholly unique, and far more interesting conceptually than anything in either of the Modern Warfare games (aside from maybe Heat, but that ripped off The Mace).

The enemy spawn system was perfect in World at War, too.

What was wrong with WaW? I felt that the multiplayer was much more solid than Modern Warfare's.

Once again: http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Call_of_Duty:_Black_Ops#Multiplayer

As long as this page is true (well at least some have specific citation), Treyarch is going to be far better than MW2. As with WaW they seem to be taking the system from the previous game, but they're fixing the system massively. If they have been speaking the truth all of the massive issues with MW2 will be fixed. They're going to have dedicated servers even! I don't know about you guys, but I think I'm gonna at least rent it instead of burning it at the stake immediately.

Hmmm, I didn't like WaW. I just didn't. MW2 is like crack. i.e. awful but I can't stop playing. (I'm talking multiplayer here)

I think the hate is just to widespread in this area of games. People hate this developer for this reason and this reason but none of it really matters.

In Treyarch's defense, at the time they were making WaW, they were also making several other games. I think they at the moment they are making exclusively Black Ops... I could be very wrong.

Anyway... I'll just go cry silently in a corner until Portal 2 comes out.

Meh, I agree that CoD has been more and more disappointing since the awesome that was CoD4. Waw had a decent online (A WW2 reskin of CoD4..), but good god I HATED that campaign. Getting 'nade spammed isn't fun, plain and simple. And MW2...well, I do kinda have a love/hate relationship with that game, but I do grudgingly keep coming back. BC2 just doesn't scratch that same itch, that I fully acknowledge it is the better game.

I really don't know if I will get Black Ops. I really haven't enjoyed a Treyarch title...ever. Black Ops looks good, then again, so did WaW, and even THAT I kinda liked just because it's MP reminded me of CoD4 "old guns" edition. I dunno, I'll keep an eye on it, but Halo: Reach should be able to meet my console FPS needs for a good while.

That's a good point. Battlefield has never produced a game that disapointed me, however, some weren't amazing. At least they have consistancy.

However they're also much more slow-paced, and team oriented than COD. If he wanted that, he should just play TF2.
TF2 and Battlefield aren't similar in the same senses. Battlefield, in my opinion, is better than Call of Duty due to the higher amount of stratigizing that goes into it.

I only played MW2 finished singleplayer in 4 days played multiplayer for 3 months or so and got piss bored and never touched it again. i don't see what is so compelling about it and why everyone i know who has that game playes nothing else but MW2, i do like the killstreaks and deathstreaks and killcam is a wonderful thing. but i don't see what makes it so addictive.

ah, im getting off topic. i really could not give a fuck about black ops. it's nothing to do with treyarch but ever since the IW incident. i have lost all respect for the call of duty games. they are nothing more than money magnets to me.
