Wolfwoods' holy weapon. Long end is a machine gun, opposite short end is an RPG launcher. The middle two remaining ends house handguns (six of them, I think?). The center of it all is a skull shaped grip trigger. Absurd as this weapon is, I do loves me some Wolfwood. :3

I'm a novice comic book artist, and I'll admit; there are times where I've abused the oversized whachamacallits. There are times where, as an artist, you want to elicit a certain feeling of power, and ability. An oversized blade gives a sense of ability and power. Shoulders are for power, so enhanced shoulders give a feeling of confidence and power. It can and does go on, but the oversized weapons in art has a reason; to elicit an emotional response.

There are, however, some scenarios where it's very appropriate, and works well.

I hold a special place in my heart for Vera, Jayne Cobb's weapon in Firefly. When you consider that the average armaments featured on the show usually consist of pistols, shotguns and lever-action rifles, Vera is definetley overkill.

I have a special kind of love for a man that tried to trade his most favorate gun for a woman that makes free soup. But yes, Vera is overkill. Somehow though, most fitting in Mr Cobbs hands.
