I don't care when Half Life 2: Episode is released.

I just care that it will another Valve masterpiece.

Heh, heh...

As it turns out,

The shu'ulathoi were actually created by the citadel, not the other way around, and in the end Gordon has to make the epic decision to either

A) psychically control the shu'ulathoi

B) destroy the shu'ulathoi, but all vortagaunts along with them

C) make all earthlings part shu'ulathoi, and all shu'ulathoi part earthling

No matter the decision, all portal devices and the gravity gun are destroyed, but not before Alyx, dog, breen, barney, and that one easter egg vortigaunt are teleported to a desert island.

Well lets see here. The TF2 team is currently working on Meet the Pyro. Portal 2's team has working for the most simplified puzzle room editor possible. Dota 2 itself. Richochet 2 is apparently having issues with getting going, but will happen eventually. Richochet 2 could have been code for Half Life 3, which just has had a lot of trouble in the design process for several years. [doubt it, this news came from Reddit, where inflammatory and hopeful headlines rule over cats] Counter Strike: Global Offensive is in beta now.

I guess you could say that Left 4 Dead 2 only recently ended its actual development.

Overall, Valve have made plenty of games and updates that keep them frequently busy. And from here on out, anyone, anyone that says what you just said is a scoundrel and a liar good sir.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone else want Half Life 3 to have no connection to Half Life 2 or its episodes? Since every single character in there is a ***** to the player for one reason or another.

Uh... what?

Portal 2 says, "Hi".
As does Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Also Dota 2, which is in beta.

So yeah.
Ah, forgot about Dota 2. Hardly new IP but shows that they are still capable of developing games. Good, I was beginning to worry that managing Steam's growth had consumed them. Stardock sold Impulse for that very reason.

Given how valve is managed I am surprised they get anything done at all.

No one is told what projects to work on they just DO stuff.

Because how many times have people thought they were going to announce Half Life 3 and been wrong now?

It's gotta be close to fifty.

Half life 3 will not live up to the hype.

Remember Duke Nukem? 12 years and it's shit, but Ok this is Valve they don't do crap. But you can't deny it's over hyped.

Doubt it. I kind of feel sorry for the person who came up with this promotion. Everyone sees "crowbar" and "announcement" and starts salivating and asking "Half Life 3? Half Life 3!? Oh won't someone please just says it's Half Life 3!!"

"Uh, no it's a new break-and-enter simulator."

Cue muted trombone.

Next news: Nvidia teases some glasses... Gordon Freeman wears glasses! HL3! Oh, it's the new Nvision...

Gabe grows a goatee. Oh Gordon wears one as well! HL3!

Dishonored looks like Half-Life... Oh, it's in fact HL3!

And so on...

I don't believe rumours anymore.

Why, Valve? You have no heart? Make the game already, please!

Since 2007 -
Half-Life 2: Episode 2
Team Fortress 2
Portal
Alien Swarm
Left 4 Dead
Left 4 Dead 2
Portal 2
Dota 2
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Um...yeah. Pretty sure they still make games. Why do people even ask this?

Uh, no. Seeing Half-Life 3 threads isn't the norm. The "norm" will be when, at least twice a week, we see someone start yet another Half-Life/Valve/Steam hate thread. One wherein, ironically, the OP will ***** about people constantly talking about...well...Half-Life/Valve/Steam.

You know, for the first few years that this has been going on on The Escapist, it was annoying to bordering on obnoxious. Now though? It's down-right hilarious. I get quite a laugh at the people who regularly post those hate threads. It's humorous to see them repeat the same rhetoric over and over. (even though virtually none of it is true) And even more humorous to see the exact some people come to their defense and call anyone who disagrees a "fanboy".

(which itself is hilariously ironic as these same people often go to great lengths to defend anything related to...say...Bioware or some such company. (I've even seen some on here whine and complain about DLC one day; and then fervently defend Bioware on it's on-disc Day-1 DLC the next day.) The hypocrisy is so delectable I'm tempted to call it Ambrosia.)

Oh dear. I've seen this before. I frequent GTAforums, and everyone there's really excited about GTA V. So excited, in fact, that they've fallen for some leaks and keep getting disappointed over and over again. They even took a street address number in the trailer and are now speculating over whether or not it's actually a release date for the game or a second trailer.

Look, I'll break it down. They're not hinting at jack shit. They just want to get your attention and views so they can drum up hits for their website. Do not fall for it. My GTAforums fellows have fallen for gaming magazine after gaming magazine promising new information and then it turning out to be just yet another god damn trailer speculation article. Do not fall for it, or you'll be constantly disappointed again and again and again. Trust me, I know. I'm anticipating V as much as they are. I've just ran for the wolf too many times...

I know it's totally naive, but this actually gives me some hope. Now, I understand the delay on Ep3, it's how VALVe has always done things, and I love them for it. But the fact that they've shown or told us nothing is what infuriates me. Hell, Half-Life 2 was getting demos in, what, 2001? COME ON!!!!!!!!

Valve can't count to three. It's physically impossible for them. They have some kind of hyperphobia of it. They instead create new IP, and give it two major installations and several subtitled but innumerated mini stories, which may receive up to two dedicated sections each.
