See what I mean? Give the Valve/Half-Life fanboys and girls one nibble or throw out an opposing opinion and they'll go on and on about it for weeks.
Maybe you should stop posing questions to nobody and start reading it.

Maybe it's for opening crates.

Crates with graphics cards or other hardware in them.

Just a crazy thought I had.

I'm probably wrong though, I usually am.

Pretty crazy, I thought they engineered crates with doors nowadays. But I could be wrong...

Hmm, Steam for Linux, along with Valve's product library, is on its way...

Proper N'Vidia driver support for Linux, maybe?

Oh well done, you can point out the obvious too

I'm flattered, really I am. But this little obsession of yours has to end. I'm taken, happily. Maybe go be weirdly persistent somewhere else?
Nah, I like it here. It's warm and has chairs.
You're incredibly weird. From snapping a twig at the mere mention of someone not giving a toss about your beloved franchise, now you're sending me personal messages? Do you not have better things to do? Like, say, talk to friends or a boy/girlfriend?

I'ma go ahead and block you. I do have better things to do. Good luck with being a creepy stalker.
BAHAHAHAHAHAH

I don't know if blocking extends to the actual forum space, but this is hilarious.
I'd like to say that I sent a personal message because I didn't wish to clog the forums with what isn't totally necessary. But this is just great.
For you information I do have a girlfriend, but I fail to see what that has to do with anything.
The "it's warm and has chairs" is a reference to David Thorne's latest book, and just because somebody replies to you lots doesn't mean that they're stalking you, it's because you reply back.
Well, that's my amusement for the day. Time to do something constructive.

Actually, considering how fast this kind of tech moves, 5 years could very much put nostalgia glasses on people.

I don't really get the HL3 Hype. Haven't played the Episodes, but huge portions of 2 were little more then terrible driving sequences.
How dare you!

Well, HL2 is odd for me. I tried to replay it recently, but it felt so dated for me. But at the moment I played it, it felt like the perfect game for me.

A new Half-Life game, please

Does Valve even make games anymore, or has Steam consumed them entirely?
Since 2007 -
Half-Life 2: Episode 2
Team Fortress 2
Portal
Alien Swarm
Left 4 Dead
Left 4 Dead 2
Portal 2
Dota 2
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Um...yeah. Pretty sure they still make games. Why do people even ask this?
That's a lot of 2s. Where is the new IP? I adore valve when they create new intellectual property. Half life, Portal and TF have all been brilliant games. They can bury Half Life for all I care. More new games please.
Let me get this straight. Are you saying that making sequels isn't the same as making games? Following that logic Bethesda hasn't made a game in more than 14 years. You try to cover that you've been proven wrong by hiding behind one of the dumbest statements ever.

And why the hell would a GPU designer announce the release of a Valve game? Also, I'm pretty sure the 29th will mark the release of the GTX 670Ti.

So they should make one game and then completely abandon it for something else? I don't quite get where you're going with that.

I understand your desire for a "new" game, but I don't think Valve should just drop all of their other franchises simply because they've already made one or two games in the series. Valve is one of the few developers out there that makes it a priority to innovate with each sequel instead of just peddling "more of the same".

Besides, are you actually considering how many varied IPs they already have under their belt? They're not like most devs out there that have all of two or three key franchises and just keep pumping out sequel after sequel each year. (looking at you Bungie, Blizzard, Bioware, Bethesda (dev studio), Nintendo, Ubisoft, Capcom, Infinity Ward, etc, etc)

Well the crowbar is pretty sugestive but zombies dont come to mind with half life, they are present but not iconic. I doubt itll be HL3 but id be happy if it was.

I know it's totally naive, but this actually gives me some hope. Now, I understand the delay on Ep3, it's how VALVe has always done things, and I love them for it. But the fact that they've shown or told us nothing is what infuriates me. Hell, Half-Life 2 was getting demos in, what, 2001? COME ON!!!!!!!!
Actually, the first time the public even got a hint at Half-Life 2 was in 2003 at E3. It was the first time Valve showed the work they'd done so far. Demonstrated the Source engine and talked about their plans with the game.

The demo actually came around after the game was released.

Which is different from how the first Half-Life was created. It had an extended demo released well before the final product.

Also, for you (and anyone else annoyed with the lack of info on Half-Life 3), this article is quite enlightening: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/04/23/gabe-on-ricochet-2-delay-but-he-doesnt-mean-ricochet/

For those too lazy to click a link, basically Gabe says they want to talk about it but aren't comfortable doing so until they know exactly how the games going to turn out. They don't want to confuse the fans.

Or maybe you came out of the gates being insulting and condescending? Making blanket statements about how sad and pathetic the fans of something are and then yourself act all "offended" when they have the God damned GALL to respond back.

How fucking dare they? They should just sit there and take the insults, right? I mean, it's not like anyone elses opinion but yours has any validity.

Oh wait. I keep forgetting. On The Escapist, you're not one of the cool people unless you act all arrogant and condescending by insulting anyone and everyone who has a differing opinion from you. Especially if they're fans of Valve or their products.

You know, it's funny. We constantly hear people ***** about everyone always talking about Valve and Half-Life. Yet, the only people that perpetually bring up that game series are those who start threads to complain about people talking about Half-Life.

The irony is delicious.

I don't see why Valve would be handing it off to nVidia to announce. I would think they would want to keep that all in-house so as to reveal it on their own time. Also, and this is probably a bit nitpicky, that crowbar isn't the the same kind that Gordon Freeman sports around. His is the rounder, longer style of crowbar.

i feel sorry for the promotions gut who didnt realise people would think half-life just because its a crowbar, but if you take a few steps back you will see the problems with this.

1. wrong crowbar.
2.crowbar branding nothing to do with half-life.
3. the whole zombie or..... doesn't really seem half-life like? will probably just be a zombie game
4, isnt it more likely to be with an amd card as last i checked amd where a valve partner? (maybe wrong on this tho)
