Who even cares about Half-Life anymore? Yeah, it was cool little series. Operative word being was. I think people just enjoy masturbating their nostalgia hardon a little too much. Old series, was fun at the time, there's hundreds of new titles, get over it.

It's like some tragic case of someone never getting over their highschool crush.
I'm not actually a fan of the Half-Life series, I just thought this was an interesting thing to share as I know there are a lot of people on here who are fans. There's no need to be so rude and condescending.

Nono, Half Life HD Collection! Just imagine it, a rerelease of Half Life 1,2, ep1+2, Blue Shift, and Opposing Force, all for the low price of $49.99. Comes with a TF2 hat per game!

It's only the first game and it'll be free, but your joke is closer to reality then you probably intended.

I'm starting to think it's not Valve that's entirely to blame, I think the name Half Life itself is cursed to make everything it touches unfathomably slow to arrive. Black Mesa, part two that that really excellent fan film that everyone went crazy for a year or two ago, hell even the long awaited Half Life episode of Doomsday Arcade didn't come until the series was almost over.

I don't think anyone at Valve has even thought about Half Life in years. The problem is they want to do something revolutionary with each game, but at this point I just want them to finish the story. The Half Life series is by FAR my favorite video game series, and I just want them to wrap up the story and then end it. No cliffhanger, no "the battle is over, BUT THE WAR IS JUST BEGINNING NNNNGGHHHH-", just let it go.
Half Life was great because it was always very original, and continuing a series just to make money (or even just because the fans expect you to) is cynical. Just give us the last episode, bring everything involving the Combine to a close, and tell us who/what the goddamn G-man is! (and also let me remote control Dog and pummel some Combine please!)

GOD DAMN IT, VALVE!!! YOU'VE MAD ME BELIEVE THAT ANYTHING INVOLVING A CROWBAR PERTAINS TO HALF-LIFE!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!

More OT, Less Crazy: I would take this bait if it weren't for the fact that it's Nvidia of all companies. Why would Nvidia have the exclusive on Half-Life 3? It doesn't make much sense when you think about it either. Wouldn't it be best to have Valve come up on stage to one of the E3 2012 conferences and officially reveal it so that fanboys die of anticipation? That seems like a much more logical way to get the most attention possible.

not only is it not the correct crowbar, but since when were the zombies the defining feature of the story? They're so generic this could be for anything

Crap! I think you're right! Even Freeman's mind, a rather entertaining "Let's play" style run-through or HL1, where we're supposedly listening to what's going through Freeman's mind as he going through these events slowed down to a god-awful crawl. Hell, it's been running for 5 years now, with no end in sight.

Half life 3 will not live up to the hype.

Remember Duke Nukem? 12 years and it's shit, but Ok this is Valve they don't do crap. But you can't deny it's over hyped.
I don't really think it's hype anymore, we already know what to expect
it's more like "give us the damn game already!"

When it does come out, I won't even care anymore because of all the viral marketing and "is it for real this time" hype.

I bet its unrelated to any Valve games and Nvidia is just using the easily manipulable hype that anything even remotely possibly HL3 related can cause to promote their card.
Sounds about right. Either that or a masterful troll.

For fuck's sake, they just need to release this fucking game, people can wank over it for a few months, and then people can still talking about it.
Christ.
Exactly. And it'll go the way of Skyrim. No way it can live up to the hype, and for that reason, an otherwise fine game will be sunk by nitpicks and whining. That's probably why Valve are putting it off. They dug their hole, and the only way to escape is to eternally keep digging.

The prybar is probably meant to be used to pry open your recession shut wallets and bank accounts for another version of video card.
