O the possibilitys

Quite a while ago both Bizzard and Bungie have announced a project with activation. Creaters of very very addictive games in separate genres. Activision seems to be preparing to drop some serious firepower to beat out the competition. The question is what though?

What would you assume they would make? Note a few things though Blizzard isn't likely making another world of warcraft as there is no need and the halo franchise is owned by Microsoft.

Both have experience ranging from shooters to rts's games like myth, marathon, deablo and star-craft come to mind all very successful.

Where do you think they will go next and do you think it will be the next peanut butter and cocaine?

I hope to hell that Blizzard is going to make Warcraft 4. I don't care either way about WoW, but I want another bloody Warcraft RTS. As for Bungie, I assume it'll be some form of FPS. They have a lot of experience making shooters, and even if the Halo series wasn't really my cup of tea outside of a bit of split-screen deathmatch fun with mates, they might be able to pull off something that interests me.

I agree 100%. But they wont. WoW is making way too much money. The Warcraft story is epic, but ruined with a crappy MMO.

There have been comments made that indicate that Warcraft 4 is a project, particularly stating that it would follow a similar model to Starcraft 2, so there is still a small amount of hope.

OT: I'd love another Real Time Tactics from Bungie, the Myth games were amazing for the time, and still hold up reasonably today, but it's probably not going to happen. Also, something from Blizzard that doesn't take six million years to make. It could be an above average game, with a decent amount of polish, and if it didn't take them forever to make it, I would lap it up.

Yahtzee called it - a sequel to Oni.

I'd like to see Bungie go a different route with their next game. They can't do Halo anymore, so it's the perfect time to strike out at something new. Could be fun to see them tackle a third person shooter or maybe a first person puzzle game like Portal .

As for Blizzard, Diablo 3. No question about it. That's what I want to see from them. The merest hint of them working on anything else makes my fist shake.

Maybe a return to Warcraft rts and they will put it on the consol. Or maybe starcraft ghost. As for Bungie who knows probably a brand new IP hopefully something in a genre they haven't tackled like rpg or a 3rd person game. Blizzard is famous for taking for ever with games sc 2 and daiblo three which isnt even out yet. As far a bungie reach just came out so they probably have very little in the way of a new ip with activision. These two developers could save activision from being seen as a big shitty corporation.

Bungie has made a 3rd person game, ONI, but I get your point.

OT: Something new and exciting from Bungie would be awesome. Big fan of Marathon and Halo but I feel that whatever Bungie is cooking up wont be a FPS.

As for Blizzard, I don't have much experience in their games besides Warcraft II and Starcraft. I think they probably will have their hands full with the next Starcraft II expansions.
