Ok so i played oblivion a far bit back when it came out. never finished the main quest or anything like that cause i got bogged down i nthe 1000 other quests.

Anyway im giving Oblivion another go since Skyrim is coming out later this year. Im focusing on the Main quests first but after that i have no idea what to do. I think i have all the expansion/addons etc.

What are some of the better/epicer quests to focus on. Like i dont have to do every little quests. I would prefer to focus on the better ones.

Thanks

Best quest to focus on is going to the store and buying Morrowind Collector's Edition. It's pretty self-explanatory from there.

Bethesda said Skyrim is going to be more 'zeird' over realism like Morrowind, so play that instead.
You're welcome ;)

I had the most fun with the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood and the least fun with the Oblivion gates. But that's just me. If you're not finding a particular set of quests fun, just don't bother. The game has tons of other ones on offer.

Haha, absolutely love how the first 3 posts are about Morrowind.

Just run through Oblivions Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild missions. They're the most fun and inventive IMO.

Also, do give Morrowind more than 5 damn minutes, you won't regret it.

Listen to this guy. (Don't get it on Steam - the Steam version is messed up - but there are obviously loads of other placed to get it from.)

I picked it up on a whim off the cheap rack at EB for ten bucks, 'cause I wanted something to play over the weekend. Instead, it changed my freakin' life.

do all the guild quests and become the gray fox/arch mage/leader of the fighters guild/dark brotherhood boss
you could also do the deadric quests for cool stuff (like a un-breakable lock pick)

You can't buy Morrowind from a physical shop in Australia anymore, it's long out of print. Jesus guys, if he wants to play Oblivion just let him do it.

You're missing out until then, though. Oblivion's going to feel really dull after a while and transferring to Morrowind is going to be strange. Just don't complain that your character can't hit a four-inch Kwama Forager after sprinting across half the island.

I liked most of the guild quests for all guilds. arena is a fun distraction and doesn't take much time to do in between other things + the groupie is kinda funny.

eventhough oblivion might have lacked the atmosphere of morrowind at some places I do think most of the quests are interesting and have real backstory, there is almost never a simple kill this get gold quest I can appreciate that.

as mentioned before the oblivions gates (baring perhaps the first and the last) are bland and unimaginative, they yield great reward and are therefor somewhat worth doing but I wouldn't go seeking them out much outside those needed for the main questline. 'epic' quests are found in the main line mostly, because it is obviously the quests with the largest scope.

I found that you should play oblivion for the stories and it requires some imagination to look past some limitations in mechanics and conversations, fill in some blanks in your head and I think the world really comes to life the way an rpg should

I found "questing" in Oblivion to be a rather drab experience. I only found a few that were particularly interesting. There's one where you go into a guy's dream and have to perform puzzles and tests of your characters heroic traits, that one was pretty awesome.

In general though, I just pick a direction, and just explore in it. I have a friend with me so that when something entertaining happens, I have someone there to laugh with. I watch him play, he watches me play, we have a great time of it.

I can't wait for Skyrim though... It's going to be awesome.
