Try the Daedric quests if you are looking for something epic to do. Besides that, listen to everybody else on here and go buy the Morrowind Collector's Edition. MUCH better game. =-D

Don't you get that from an unrelated Daedric quest?
yeah, that's a daedric quest

Becoming the leader of the thieve's guild gives you the Grey Fox cowl, which makes guards attack you but removes culpability for criminal actions taken while wearing it.

Shivering Isles, Dark Brotherhood if you want the horse (and don't use the mods though if you do, get the Diablo amulet), Gray Fox and other guild ones you might find interesting.

Also the Daedric ones...to get the artefacts. You will need one in the main quest too so ...it's a perk.

Through a Nightmare, Darkly - Bravil Mages Guild (Not required for recommendation, but you need to get a membership to help a female Argonian, I belive)

A Shadow Over Hackdirt - Errrrrrm, somewhere in the south? Geez, I think it's North-East of Bravil? Pffffft. Anyway, try to stumble upon that.

Deadric Gods - I cannot, CANNOT stress this enough. Have UESP wiki open in one tab to make sure you do Clavicus Vile's quest and the Orc/Ogre quest properly, and then go meet the head Deadra. Do it do it do it.

Dark Brotherhood/Thieves Guild - Go bananas. Just go crazy apeshit bananas.

Mages guild ones were alright, Final one is okay.

Fighter's guild have a few fourth-wall breaking funny quests at the start but eh.

Aaaaaaand Vampire hunting ones were fun for me, but that's just me.

Did I miss anything?

You can also get it from a really easy Dagon Shrine quest at level 10. Makes Security a useless skill...

OT: Go for one of the factions (Dark Brotherhood, the guilds). They have some good content and introduce you to new places and quests along the way.

quick question. if i dont meditate do i lose XP?

like i have needed to meditate for a while now and still on level 1. say i play for 20 hours and never meditate, when i do meditate will i get like 15 levels at once?

also is there a simple way to make the UI smaller. i dont like only being able to see like 6 items in my bags at once. why does there need to be massive buttons.

Shivering Isles should be high on your list of priority quest lines. Visually it's the most interesting, I'd say the same goes for plot content as well. Trying to play the rest of the main storyline after that will probably feel kinda underwhelming, so I'd recommend the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood first. They have the most compelling stories and mission variety out of all the factions.

Yep, Nocturne's.
Do the Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild questlines. Best in the game. If you have it, Shivering Isles is amazing.

You still level your skills up, but you won't get that bonus to your abilities when you level (Instead of a 3 bonus to str, a 2 bonus to wis, etc, etc, it'll all just be a single).

And you need to rest 15 times, but they can be done in a row.

tl;dr, you fucked your ability levelling.

The Dark Brotherhood quests. Some of those are awesome. The mansion was the best. The Mage Guild quests have a good reward at the end.

Finding all the Daemon Statues and doing those missions are pretty good.

The Shivering Isles expansion was pretty fun...Don't attack the King...Actually go ahead, just save before hand.

depending on if you like to role play or not the best quests are:

Dark brotherhood
Shivering Isles expansion (awesome, reminded a bit of morrowind)
Knights of the Nine (short but fun)
and personally I really enjoyed the thieves guild final quests

all other guilds may also be your cup of tea

Yeah, this. I haven't gotten very far into it, but what I've seen of it is pretty amazing.

Really, mods in general are something you should try to become acquainted with very quickly when it comes to ESIV. I wouldn't say it's a necessity (I put over 200 hours into the 360 version before I ever touched it on PC and had a blast), but it can vastly improve the quality of the overall experience.
