9 hours 9 persons 9 doors. If you have a DS and like puzzle/visual novel games, you are required to play this.

Also Baten Kaitos.

Titanic: Adventure out of Time.

Has some of the creepiest music I've ever heard it a game. Example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UK4vF43a8AQ

Wish I could find a more cleaned up version of that.

I enjoyed Medi-Evil very much as well...

However, I could never make it pass that castle level, where you battle multiple floors of zombies and some cannon things.

I also though it was interesting that you did not mention the awesome 3d graphics (HAH! I LIED) or a lot of the more complex puzzles (To a ten year old me).

On a side not, Decay on the Xbox 360 marketplace is a thrill!

Made by a little indie developer, it ranks up in jumpscares with amnesia, and not to mention the atmosphere is daunting. The bad part, is that you have to buy it in parts, and each part is 260 Microsoft points.

I can still see that fucking doll in my dreams man.

IN MA DREAMS!

I'm tired of talking about Psychonauts and that's at least a well know title among hipster gamers so I'm going to say FolkLore because it was a very interesting game in terms of story and graphic design. I also think the gameplay had some innovative ideas. Unfortunately there are a ton of places where it needed more polish and it seems to be kind of hard game to get into for some people.

I've been playing the game Payday: The Heist lately and i think it qualifies as obscure as almost nobody is playing it.

And to DioWallachia, I love a good chunk of the games on your epic list (Evil Genius and God Hand are particularly awesome... after you patch Evil Genius of course.)

Blair Witch Project #1: Rustin Parr

You never even knew a game existed for those movies right? They have an original storyline though, intersecting with Nocturne's and Bloodrayne's universe. It's a survival horror game in which you are investigating around in a creepy village, and, you guessed it, go around getting lost in the forest. The game is pretty terribad, as it's full of bugs and things I'm not sure if bugs or just brainfarts, but darn, is it downright scary overall... It's scariness matched that of the Penumbra and Silent Hill games for me. Definitely worth a shot. Oh, and stay away from the other 2 Blair Witch games. They suck harder than a vacuum cleaner.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto

Nice blend of genres (TPS, FPS, RTS, Peter Jackson's King Kong...) and a sense of humor that falls so flat sometimes, you can't help but laugh anyway. I've yet to meet anyone who mentions this game in threads like this, and given how great it is, I'm baffled by it.

I Was An Atomic Mutant

It's an arcade-style giant mosnter game where you shoot up the military and innocent people as one of the 4 giant monsters, all influenced by 50's giant monster films. The atmosphere is just fucking right, but the gameplay is repetitive. Still, like to dig it up and play every now and then. The cutscenes are made in 50's monster movie style also, and they're totally looking legit scenes from aforementioned movies. At first, I thouhgt they were actually from some of those.

Carmageddon series

You get extra time and money in a racing game for running over people and destroying your opponents. Anything else needs to be said? Fuck no. You want it.

Anachronox

God damn escapists, I'm either blind or I'm very disappointed in you all. Noone knows this? It has one of the best writings for an RPG, that is western but made in JRPG style (sorta). The jokes are hilarious, the characters are interesting, and the game ate up about 70 hours of my playing time and I still felt it was not long enough. The gameplay is something I've never seen before, the combat system is very unique. Needs definitely a LOT more love.

Monster In My Pocket

An NES game for Halloween, but not of the scary type. It doesn't try to be serious, yet it's not making any clear jokes either. It rather feels like a cartoon show from its age; little to no story (He bad, You good, go kill!) and lots of action. Tere's a great variety of enemies and bosses, and if you're anything like me, you'll complete it like 3 times a year.

The Tunguska adventure series

Not sure if there's a third game in the series yet, but I've heard rumors about it a few months back. The first one is an amazing-looking point and click title, with an interesting plot. It's not exactly Syberia or The Longest Journey, but satisfied my adventure-hunger easily. The second game is rather a so bad it's good type of game, and it's self-aware. For different reasons, I love them both. Definitely goig for that third one when it comes out.

And for a more recent one: To The Moon

Very strong writing with great and loveable characters, an interesting mistery that will keep you playing and... well... one of the most infuriating endings for me. Not going to spoil it, but it was pissing me off; maybe that was the point of it, maybe not, but either way I was not happy seeing it. Other than that, the game is amazing, the gameplay is "sufficient", despite all the critique's that say otherwise, and I love how they made a very powerful and emotional plot unfold with SNES-era JRPG graphics; with those "primitive" graphics they put more emotion into some scenes than anything that the latest Final Fantasy games ever tried to do with their deliciously expensive cutscenes. Bottom line, it's pretty cheap, google it up; it's worth your money. You should probably bring some tissues with you also.

That's all I remember now. Lots of games that could and should have done with a little bit more popularity and love in this thread, which makes me both sad and happy. Sad, because such amazing games are not recognized in a way they deserve it, and happy because now I can look up a lot of these titles and see which ones I can get :D

The simpsons game. Yes, the controls are somewhat bad, but the game is so incredibly unique, cool and funny that I didn't really mind.

I had so many. I could go on forever, but I'll just name a few.
Shadow Hearts, Drakengard, Resonance of Fate, Obscure, Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground...and many more, but I'll stop there. :)

SHIT. You heard of ResQ?? That thing is very obscure because it was NEVER released to begin with out of fear that it will never be able to compete with the Playstation that was released when the game was finished (ResQ was for the Sega Genesis)

And somehow i forgot to put Grim Fandango but i believe that most people know about it already.

PS3:
Nier
--fantastic characters and story, decent combat, interesting visual design, AND a stealthy retrospective on several generations of Japanese gaming

PS2:
Drakengard
--really interesting, really vicious story; functional though grindy combat but at least you get to ride a dragon during the aerial sequences
Primal
--great story, believable and respectable female protagonist, nice world variety
The Bard's Tale
--humorous and snarky take on old-school crpgs, great Orkney-inspired setting

PC:
Death to Spies
--hardcore stealth of the Hitman variety, WWII setting, well-researched Russian spy-craft
Nehrim
--NOTE! this is a mod: total conversion of TES IV: Oblivion, story-driven but still open world, fully voiced by professional voice actors (German with English subtitles, good translation), completely new environments and quest lines, original soundtrack

Seriously, If I stopped using words because there might be a misunderstanding over them I'd never use any word related to anything about gaming ever again. We don't have a dictionary.

Dynasty Tactics 2 by Koei.

A great turn-based game where you can take command of either the three main kingdoms or Lu Bu's forces (those of you who have played a Dynasty Warriors game will know these) and they all have their own stories that are quite long and also feature "what if" scenarios that are quite interesting.

There is a also a multiplayer section that can be a lot of fun. I once had a 2 hour long match with a friend of mine; damn that was a lot of fun.

Also, I have never had so much fun recruiting people in a game.
You deserve a medal. I played Dynasty Tactics 2 to near full completion and loved every single bit of it, even with recruiting officers.

Voodoo Vince! It was my first xbox game and still one of my favorites. It's worth buying for the soundtrack alone.

Vince was only the third best doll in the shop according to the introduction. The first game didn't exactly end with much opening for a sequel but other, not-as-awesome games got unnecessary sequels (like Force Unleashed). I still have that game on the Xbox and play it every so often, it was a fun game.

No sir, you deserve a medal.
