Some classics get remembered and some gets forgotten.
Now what obsolete classics do you still own? and sometimes even play?

My word goes to: Rune and it's expansion Halls of Valhalla.

I can't believe that rare release such crap when blast corps is begging to be made with current technology.

I really enjoyed Transport Tycoon and still bust it out for the odd session here and there.

I sometimes have been known to bust out a few hours on Theme Hospital and I have my annual play through Fallout 1 + 2.

I have never really got that game as there never seemed to be any depth to it and the whole running people over never really impressed. I never done more than a few races though as it was so unappealing. Was there something that i missed?

Fallout 1 and 2 aside that's exactly what I still play, you ever look into Locomotion? The almost Transport Tycoon 2.

The extra one I'm throwing in is Haegemonia: Legions of Iron

MDK is pretty fucking classic. One of my first games, I still cream my pants thinking about the extremely epic action-comedy fusion that went on there.

Oh yeah, and it was the first 3D (" ") game that implemented gliding in mid air. It also has quite intriguing equipment such as "The World's Smallest Nuclear Explosion", "The World's Most Cowardly Pickup" and "The World's Most Interesting Bomb".

I also own Locomotion! Its pretty much exactly the same game as Transport Tycoon just a bit more easy on the eye. If i remember correctly even the music is almost the same with that super cheesy and somehow amphetamine like jazz.

Simon the Sorcerer 2 and Wolfenstein 3D. With wolf I have the original on the 'old skool' discs - obviously I cant use them - so I once in a blue moon I'll play the Wolf 3D that came with Return To Castle Wolfenstein.

Classics are never obsolete.

Master of Magic (abandonware)
Mechwarrior 3 (recently purchased)
Thief 2 (recently purchased, I never totally finished it.)
Xcom (abandonware, though I haven't played it recently.)

I'm jealous, my brother broke my disk (locomotion), it was good, very good, but there was something else about Transport Tycoon: Deluxe, something very special.

Your right there. I don't ever touch Locomotion and would much rather slap in Transport Tycoon. I think the reason for this is a very large helping of nostalgia but whatever it is that pulls me away makes for a more satisfying experience.

You should get your brother to replace the disk; if he resists i suggest a big stick.

He has his punishment, he has to find me Transport Tycoon: Deluxe, that works on windows XP. 2 years he's been looking, I text him every week. I can't bring myself to tell him it doesn't exist (well, according to Chris Sawyers site anyway).
