Obsolete Classics

MDK is pretty fucking classic. One of my first games, I still cream my pants thinking about the extremely epic action-comedy fusion that went on there.

Oh yeah, and it was the first 3D (" ") game that implemented gliding in mid air. It also has quite intriguing equipment such as "The World's Smallest Nuclear Explosion", "The World's Most Cowardly Pickup" and "The World's Most Interesting Bomb".

It was "obsolete classic," not "fucking awesome perfect classic that demands a sequel"

(and I still have MDK2, and it still needs another sequel. :x)

It should do, as should Master of Orion 2. Starcraft is over 10 years and I still play it.

Your right there. I don't ever touch Locomotion and would much rather slap in Transport Tycoon. I think the reason for this is a very large helping of nostalgia but whatever it is that pulls me away makes for a more satisfying experience.

You should get your brother to replace the disk; if he resists i suggest a big stick.

He has his punishment, he has to find me Transport Tycoon: Deluxe, that works on windows XP. 2 years he's been looking, I text him every week. I can't bring myself to tell him it doesn't exist (well, according to Chris Sawyers site anyway).

You do know they release Transport Tycoon Deluxe for free on the internet right?

secret of monkey island, legacy of kain blood omen and soul reaver, and crash bandicoot 2 (best of the crash series in my opinion) those are my only classics that I can remember actually picking up and playing within the last 6 months.

Die Hard Trilogy - Yippie Kay Ay

WOW nice one! that game was expertly crafted: True Lies (SNES), Virtua Cop, and DRiVER all rolled into one, and amazing graphics and detail for its time...
For me the one obsolete 'classic' i still play is Hard Driving, particularly the flying version where your car can turn into a glider (which Rush:2049 ripped-off 15 years later).
