I've actually studied natural medicine and I have to to debunk this. First off, many of the prescription and otc medicines you get today are based off of homeopathic medicine. They have just found the particular alkaloid or chemical that affects the issue and either extract or synthesize it. Secondly; Many of the questions and ailments we have today were endured and "cured" well before we were even speculated about (that isn't to say you should go about drilling holes in your head or affixing leaches to your body any time soon), we have just narrowed the list of working cures down.Cheesepower5 said:(Stick with the modern medicine. Home grown remedies are cute and all, but what really works is what's proven.)
OT: The best way to cure a headache depends on the type of headache it is. The most common type of headache in the world today is caused by low blood sugar. If you get a headache try half a sandwich or a sugary drink (I tend to prefer juice, but soda works too. Just brush your teeth after). If that doesn't work and you don't have any medicine about you can try acupressure, though that is unlikely to work unless you hit the spot just right. If you have a stress headache or a tension headache a nice massage of your head and neck work wonders.
For those of you interested in the acupressure points for headaches;
Step one massage the head paying particular attention to the temples
Step two apply pressure to the fleshy portion between the thumb and index finger on your left hand, staying at least 2cm away from where the bones meet (careful with this if you are pregnant as it can cause uterine contractions)
Repeat until gone (though it won't work if it is a sugar headache)
