Maybe we should all wait two more weeks and play it before we start commenting on the gameplay.

Bungie themselves have stated that while you can still detach and use turrets in ODST, you are much slower than you would be as Master Chief. This whole thing is such a silly argument. Wait until the game is out and you play it on Heroic (the INTENDED difficulty for experienced players) or Legendary. I'm sure you won't be beating down many Brutes then...Mezzlegasm said:The issue is not whether or not one could carry a turret, it's the fact that it slowed master chief to a screeching halt when HE used it. Master chief can flip a freaking tank, but he can barely turn with a turret in his hands. To have an ODST respond the same way as master chief when carrying a turret seems out of proportion.
'Cause he let the 'humans' on the sacred rings and let them be destroyed? He was the...shipmaster? of the fleet that was present when the First Halo was destroyed.Darzen said:i would like to see a halo:arbiter stories type game.to help link %$#@ Halo 1&2 so we can figure out WHY THE HELL THE ARBITER WAS DISGRACED AND MADE INTO THE ARBITER!
Well lemme think here, if a Spartain with genetic enhancments that make him able to flip cars and pretty much throw tanks, picks up a turret and starts walking slower than normal, then that thing muxt weigh tones, with the ammo of course.Kermi said:So many assumptions. Okay, i can tell you dont know what your talking about right now, but anyway. IRL, a 50. calaber machine gun that has one barrel takes 3 people to carry, one carries the trypod, another carries the reciver, and annother carries the barrel, and this isn't even counting the ammo.pimppeter2 said:I think we're forgetting that these guys are soldiers. They can probably carry a 60 pound gun
I think your main problem here is one of perception. Walking with a turret slows Master Chief down but he can flip over a tank - therefore turret > tank? Um. not unless it's made of lead, loaded with mercury bullets and connected to another dimension where the gravity is stronger than this one.Supreme Unleaded said:Well lemme think here, if a Spartain with genetic enhancments that make him able to flip cars and pretty much throw tanks, picks up a turret and starts walking slower than normal, then that thing muxt weigh tones, with the ammo of course.
Now lets take an ODST, a Hell Jumper sent into hell that is really just as strong as a conscript soldier (though probably a little stronger I would guess) with next to no genetic enhancements (you never know whats under that helmet) that can't flip cars or do all that shit. I would expext him to not be able to carry a Turret at the same speed as the Cheif, maybe if he took away all the ammo he/she would be faster, but then why have the gun.
You see my point.
I thin ODST should be almost like a Rainbow Six style game, not with the cover system but the fact that you die in a couple of hits and that you have to take the situation tacktically, not just run into the fray.
yeah but why was he to completely to blame there must be more to itSamuel_of_Saruan said:'Cause he let the 'humans' on the sacred rings and let them be destroyed? Halo 2, intro.
Well they say that but the Vidoc's they have shown us say otherwise, in them they move slightly faster:Shy_Guy said:Bungie themselves have stated that while you can still detach and use turrets in ODST, you are much slower than you would be as Master Chief.Mezzlegasm said:The issue is not whether or not one could carry a turret, it's the fact that it slowed master chief to a screeching halt when HE used it. He allowed the Halo ring to be destroyed because he failed to stop Master Chief when he was in charge of the Covenant forces there. He also allowed his ship to be captured by Master Chief.Darzen said:yeah but why was he to completely to blame there must be more to it
Thats not the point, the point is that a turret is too hreavy to be carried by an odst.Kermi said:I think your main problem here is one of perception. No. Sorry, but you're wrong. Let it go.Supreme Unleaded said:Thats not the point, the point is that a turret is too hreavy to be carried by an odst.
