Mount & Blade. If you haven't heard of it check it out.
If I had a nickel for every hour I've spent playing M&B after 2 AM, I could probably buy lunch.

play earth defense force 2017 on inferno it will kill your pets (malnutrion because your head exploded after 3 days straight of gaming)
No way. I'm stuck on HARDEST. Did my Easy run, then Normal, then Hard (can't do 49, but everything else is done), stuck on 20-something on Hardest.

Most recent? Probably Pokemon Fire Red. A few flat mates and I got hold of some emulators (they all have laptops and I have a PC) so we spent a good few days up till the wee small hours - 4-5am maybe - smoking a bit of green and playing Pokemon in my room. Excellent times.

I remember when I first played Bioshock without knowing anything about the game. I started playing around 23:30 and finished the game the next day around 16:00. Was pretty intense.

Back when I used to play FFXI though I've spent many a night wandering around vana'diel, also Diablo II and Warcraft III.

DR. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

Pokemon also

Had also done my first Dead Space play through in one go up until the last chapter, when it kept asking me to drag around that stupid rock at the end I was too tired to care about it. Seriously that chapter brought down a rather enjoyable game, also the final boss blowed, he was wayyyyy too small.

One time when i was playing GTA SA.
Me too. I think when I finally opened up the whole map, I was up until the next day just driving/flying around exploring the whole thing. That game was epic.
Since then, the only game that's done this to me was Fallout 3.

Right now, it's the RE5 versus mode. "Just one more game!" you think, then someone hits a 30 second timer. Then a 60 second one. Then it creeps up in 5 second increments everytime someone is melee'd.
...Gah, it's the same addiction as those games that have the 'Just one more mission...' appeal. You think you're only going to spend 15 minutes playing, then BAM. There goes the hour.

First time it happened was on the original Lara Croft game. I refused to let those goddamned red dinosaurs beat me. No idea how long I spent.
Also happened with GTA Vice city. Started from scratch, continued playing for a full night, though admittedly the last hour or so was spent not doing the missions but fighting the army, hijacking the rhino and blasting up the freeway using the gun as propulsion.

This happened with Dragon Age: Origins. I had been waiting to get this game for ages and so when i finally got it i was oblivious to anything else. Eventually it was 11pm at Night, many hours later as my Dad came into my room saying i had been playing for too long. I thought, "What the hell? I haven't been playing it for long." I then looked at the clock and a Wtf look appeared on my face.

:D I imagine this will happen next Friday with RDR.

Last time I stayed up all night accidentally was New Years Eve/Day
Started playing World in Conflict at around 8pm, looked up at the TV, noticed it was on infomercials, and checked the time: 3am. Not the longest I've gone, but the most recent.

Then again, I'm usually up all day playing, rather than all night. Since I, for some reason, can't sleep much past 7-9am, I have to go to bed early to avoid being groggy and unable to really do much all day. I usually end up stopping my gaming, thinking "Wow, when did it get dark?"

This happens all the time with any good game.

Best example is Mass Effect 2. I started playing at 8pm and just physically couldn't stop. I couldn't think of anything else than playing this game. I barely forced myself to get something to eat and drink.

"Ok, I just recruited Jack. Maybe I should get some more coffee. I wonder what time it is, shouldn't be more than...HOLY FUCK, 6 AM?"

This is how you recognize an amazing game.

Dragon Age: Origins.

"It's getting pretty late, five more minu...oh I need to know what happens to her. Boss fight almost coming up, I'll go to sleep after that. Blimey, such a nice quest, but that's definitely last. Alright, I'll get the materials for the armor from Wade and then done. Did I forget the lights on? Oh, it's sunrise..."

Spent tonight playing Crusader Kings (going from Count of Moskva and trying to become King of Rus or Khazaria as part of a Paradox 900---by the time I get to HoI2 it'll be a world-spanning Soviet empire!)

*snip*

When's the last time you accidentally stayed up all night gaming...and what was the game you were playing?

Bonus questions: What games consistently have this effect on you? And do you ever pass on playing a game because you know you'll be up all night if you start any later than, say, 5 PM the previous afternoon?
Last game to do that was Sims 3: World Adventures. My wife and I played that for a ridiculous amount of time.

As for the Bonus Question? Well, one of the big culprits starts with Crusader and ends with Kings. I spent one period wiping out every Pagan on the map.

And, naturally, the usual suspects: Anything else made by Paradox, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Civilization, and Alpha Centauri.

MGS2. Cleared the entire game, both campaigns, in one day, starting at 4pm. It was early morning when I finished.
Aren't those games meant to be like fuck long?
