Oh, I see you've played Fallout 3...(Pipboy 3000 WIP)

So yeah, I played Fallout 3, and I loved it. Then I heard that there was a Pipboy 3000 prop in existence. Being a prop maker/ collector, you can imagine my enthusiasm...until someone told me it was a clock. That really didn't bother me to much, so I picked one up for about $30 (thanks eBay), and thought, 'this will be at the most, interesting'. I got the prop in the mail, and unlike most people, mine worked pretty well. I got a decent paint job, the batteries held a charge forever; overall, not to shabby. But it still wasn't a 'real' pipboy. I thought to myself 'I could do better.' And so I did.

Currently, I'm working on getting all the buttons to do what they're supposed to (right now I have to open the unit whenever I want to press any buttons), but I've at least gotten the screen to work, which is much more than most people trying to build one of these can say.

On that note, I have one thing to ask:
Does the Pip Boy really run with those little screen progression things when ever you go to a different section or is that just screen shots running on a test version?

Anyway, this is absolutely amazing. I would sell my Fat Man, T51b, Shock Sword and all other weapons to get this.

No, I meant will the real version have those progression segway things. Like the next screen comes in from both sides and joins in the middle to become a single picture. That thing. I saw where he said that it was on a loop and that does sort of answear the question but still if possible can you not have the little segway screens? Thanks.

Easy. Make a skin that causes the iPhone to look like a Pip Boy 3000. Place it in the screen area of the Pip Boy prop and bam! What you just described. Not that it would be a bad idea, but I think limiting it to a radio would be better prop wise. I mean, I own a very tiny radio myself, so it's not like they don't make them or one can't put it in the Pip Boy 3000 prop, just that if he releases the instructions like he said then adding your own radio wouldn't be all that hard.

Way to echo the sentiments of most of the previous posters but still, I'd defintely take one of these.

Maybe you could collaborate with Bethesda, but then it would probably be riddled with bugs and they would then have to churn out two replacements in as many weeks before the thing worked properly...
