I don't think I've heard people call the AUG a n00b gun in Black Ops, but it feels like one. I just kind of pull the trigger and spray bullets, and then people die. Very inelegant and amateur.

Also, sometimes I knife in Gun Game and feel bad.

Last online multiplayer I played was Shellshocked Live! on Kongregate, and I'm a noob there by not understanding the basic gravity concepts to correctly control my shots.

The last real online multiplayer I played was Team Fortress 2, and I'm a noob there as in any other game because of my horrible K:D, mostly caused by enjoying being a tank. As any class. Including Spy.

I like to kite a lot on my hunter in WoW, which annoys all the bad players.

Basically, I constantly run away from people and engage them at max range so they have trouble hitting me.
wait... what? how is that noobish? and how does that piss people off? i can only assume you're playing on a carebear server, so people don't typically understand pvp? hunters who don't kite in pvp are called corpses. well... unless they've suddenly made hunters melee powerhouses in Cataclysm. i haven't played in a couple years, so idk, maybe it's Bizarro-WoW now.

OT, and kinda tied to the above: i can't kite for shit. this despite years of playing main or secondary (or tertiary) tank in raiding guilds in FFXI and WoW. i can straight tank like a pro (and yes, there's more to it than standing there getting wailed on and occasionally using an aggro move), but my kiting skills are seriously sub-par. this has extended to my kiting skills in games like L4D(1+2). fortunately, my brother, with whom i typically play those games, is much better than i at kiting.

man... brings back memories of some epic fails kiting Kirin in FFXI back in the day... so many Stonega 4 (or was it 5?) deaths. good times, good times.

EVE Online
according to what all the other alliances say when we "blob" them. we are noobs/carebares
for all you non-eve players blobing is winning by just sending more ships rather than using skill
note that like 95% of those are +1km long battle ships.

Ot: World of Warcraft - Frostmages. That is all.
Arcane mage is the new frostmage, just to let you know.

I was once called a noob/cheater for being a hybrid spec (Blood/Frost) as a Death Knight in WoW (i wish i was kidding) After beating the living stupid out of another Death Knight who obviously was single-specced. (And retarded.)

On more recent note... I'd have to say using fully upgraded revolver in Just Cause 2 (Those poor soldiers aren't even getting a chanse.. :'( )

Something that i had the MOST fun with was in CoD MW2 was using the setup:

2x Ranger (that's the dual barreled sawed-off shotgun for those who don't know)

Marathon Pro

Lightweight Pro

Ninja Pro / Or Commando (Depending what mood i'm in)

If you would meet me in a game whilst i used this setup you would simply never stand a chanse nor see me coming ;)

You are right, that DOES make you a noob. Play to have fun, its not a life or death situation Sgt. Serious... after all, its just a game.
When you are competitive like me and over half of online gamers, it does get pretty violent.

OT: The M16 stopping Power combo in CoD 4. It was pretty damn crazy.

Bonus answer: Fun thing to do is go into a cage match against a quick scoper and put on juggernaut. They get a hit marker on you then proceed to run away before realizing they didn't kill you. Crazy number of hate messages after that.

The noobs are the ones who complain about a weapon they don't like because it's good. They developers have to give you a good gun sooner or later, don't they? Otherwise we'd all be running around the maps in BO with slug guns and .22s
Big difference between "good" and "overpowered". When a gun is great for specifically one balanced purpose (M16 for medium long range, engaging from distance. Shotguns for close range) it is a good gun. When a gun clearly outmatches everything else in the game, that is when it becomes overpowered. The AK74u only dropping point is at long distance. Which doesn't exactly say anything seeing how there are rarely any fights out of that guns range.

Campers. Every multiplayer FPS ever.

It's just so much sweeter killing them however.
I know, I mean I hate campers but killing them and constantly checking up on that spot to find them there again just makes them easy kills. Sure they get you once or twice but they can't hold you off forever. Once you know there tactics they can't stop you anymore.

My crappy APM in Starcraft. And how I spam Void Rays.

At least I don't Photon Rush, though.

AK74u isn't overpowered like all you people say. It's just overused, A LOT. IMHO MPL outclasses the 74u. Rapid Fire + Grip? You aren't going to have anymore luck with full-auto at mid range shooting the damn thing, you'll still have to use short controlled bursts to make it hit anything.

Honestly, the only time I think LOL NOOB is when somebody is camping in one corner with HS10 Duals pointed at the entrance and shotgun anybody that makes it past, or just people that camp like it's a freaking religion. I go into a match of Villa, and guess what? 4 people camping in one spot the entire fucking match, using motion sensors, flak jacket, claymores, and whatever camper-aiding tools Treyarch decided to add. I admit, I sometimes stay glued to one spot for a period of time, but I don't stay there for the whole damn match.

Sounds like you just got killed a few dozen times by a few guys using AK74s. When people consider the AK74u they assume that nothing can possibly match it in terms of killingness and it is a spiky murder-demon covered in entrails. Other guns can engage from range, other guns have high fire rates and other guns do more damage than the AK, often times with a combination of at least two of the three.
My point is that if it wasn't the AK74u that was bitched about by players, it would just be another gun. There will always be a more powerful gun, because there needs to be a top dog and whinging about it is just pointless. Tell me, if you had to fight off a bunch of bad guys and you were given a choice of guns, why wouldn't you pick the best one?

Actually that's more organized if anything. Think about it, if 4 people all have mics and they all have differnet equipment that can complement eachothers classes that is dangerous. One can put on a jammer, another can have a motion sensor and let everyone know when someone is coming, another can Tac. Insert so there is at least one person at the base at all times. Claymores for an initial alert/kill in case no one is paying attention. If anything 4 people setting up defenses like that isn't noob at all it's actually pretty well organized.

I am pretty competitive myself but I want to be good at a game to win, not just win. If you arent good and your team wins then you may as well be in spectate mode because it sure as hell isnt your skill that helped win anything.

I will admit that I used the AK 74u, why? Because once I found out it was OP I stopped using it. I like using the worst guns in the game and winning that way. Do you know how fun it is to bomb around a level with the ASP and hear all the people using AKs and FAMAS' getting pissed at how an ASP shouldnt be able to beat an AK or whatever? Its super-fun. What can they say? Its OP? Its the worst gun in the game! All skill baby, all skill.

Skilled kills = Bragging rights. Normal Kills = Bragging Rights with quantity. Cheap Kills = Probably best to avoid talking about it, maybe even try to drink away the memories for a slice of deniability.

The whole "Noobtasha" thing was a bit strange. For the longest time it was considered an underpowered weapon, then the secret update came along and upped its effective distance. This seemed to vault it to overpowered within a few days. If you use a Natasha in some public servers they will come down on you like a ton of bricks.

O.T. When I played CoD4, I specifically looked for servers where Last Stand, Martyrdom, and Tubes on players were outlawed. I didn't like the way the game played when you put those perks in the mix. So, instead of raging I just avoided them. That was until they showed up when they weren't allowed, then I felt completely justified screaming "NOOB!"

Americans who say it's me lagging not them as host.

When I'm on 20Mb/s and I know for a fact if americans have anything above 8Mb/s the connection is seamless. How stupid can you get? And then when I host "omfg this server is unplayable I have 150ms wtf wh ocan do this". Yeah mate, try living with consistent 250-400 average depending on the game and having people run around with all the aforementioned noob weapons. Oh wtf I sprayed 8 bullets (generally 3 famas bursts if I'm on the ball that day) into that shotgun noob but because he lives in the USA I die and then somehow he claims my entire country is full of noobs? Even if I'm psychic if the connection is below 8Mb/s I still can't win.

On team games people who run over to your spawn and try to spawnkill. Even worse is when your team is so stupid they can't even pull it off successfully, YES YOU NEED PEOPLE AT OUR BASE TO STOP THEM SPAWNING BEHIND US. And I still get a KDR of above 3 (but I don't play TDM so it doesn't really matter), so your country must have a really bad average!
