Oh my God, you stole my face!

If my avatar was literally a picture of my face, and someone else stole that, then I think I'd have reason to be worried. And as I've been using 'Contemplative Spider' for only a short while now here at The Escapist, I haven't had much chance to see if anybody else has him.

Some messageboards have utterly confusing systems where users can either only select from a bunch of set avatars, or their avatar will be based on an image from a related source - take the WoW Boards for instance. This can get really annoying.

I think the situation in question did happen to me once on another forum though, sort of. Similar avatar image, only very slightly different.

This actually happened to me once. Another user had the same AVP avatar as mine.

We both soon realized we got it form the same place. He changed his avatar, we made up and went our separate ways.

I use a few avatars, or make new ones depending on if I see something that I like but honestly if someone else uses the same avatar I don`t really mind.
Then again I usaly re-size a picture I like, cut and paste and such and use a smaller ver. of what I find.
My current one was made by a member on this site though ^^

Someone stole my old Rorschach avatar. I was a bit pissed off as I made it myself and it took ages to do. So if you're reading this Sewblon prepare to meet your maker. En Guard!

If anyone stole my Bird then they would have a hard time as it wouldn't fit the new file restrictions. Only one other person had a fully licensed thenumberthirteen bird, and he doesn't use it any more.

I have never experienced anything of the sort.

Keep looking around the forums there's a group all using an animated avatar of Jim Carey's face on Lady Gaga's body.

But yet to see mine be used by anyone else - not many people use signs

Awesomely enough, only a Pub Club member can use mine. So that narrows down the list of people to a select couple hundred.

Or they could just copy it then paste it as their own. It's not that hard to do.

I've never seen anybody else with the back cover to Tool's Aenima, so that would be a no. I really like Bill Hicks and I think it looks pretty cool, so I don't think i'll be changing it for a while.
