Probably Solid Snake, we could just wait the whole thing out in a cardboard box, provided he dosent keep repeating whatever I ask. (Zombie Apocalypse?! Keep quiet?! Shut up?! Ow, my brain?!)
Cid Highwind (Final Fantasy VII)and his airship the Highwind for base of operations/travel/safe zone. Plus a spear is a pretty good weapon for keeping your distance and of course he'd come with Ifrit,Bahamut Zero & Knights of the Round for a pinch.
Zinaida (Armored Core:Last Raven)Pilots a giant robot with varied weapons who doesn't mind working with others and is the toughest A.I. Raven in that game(Specially if you go on a Raven hunt story line had have to face her in the last mission she gets crazy powerful.)
Naomi Hunter (Metal Gear Solid:series) to study and/or possibly find/create a cure for the Zombie outbreak.
There those should be new entries on the list of candidates for the Zombie Apocalypse.

Darth Vader ftw, or possbly Maul for the badassery of the dual ended saber, and Kratos for the ridiculous weapons, and probably also Ezio Auditore da Firenze for the repetitive cheek/throat stabbing, which could be useful against zombies.

Master Chief because the ability to explode a zombie's head in a single punch is awesome.

Wrex, simply because he's a tank. Gordon Freeman, because a scientist is a must. And Gandalf to obliterate everyone with Word of Power.
Tatically, the perfect example is a being who is robotic or just not human (so they can't be infected) some way from keeping me infected, and easily able to hold back the undead. By this logic, one of the Collossis from Starcraft 2 Beta would be the most viable since one, that thing is alien, if not just a robot. Secondly, it is really tall and able to go up any cliffs, (meaning me and the driver can just sit inside away from the hordes). Finally, its thermal lance is best used against large amounts of weak enemies, meaning it will basically kill any undead infront of it in one swipe.

I figure the best way to survive the zombie apocalypse is to not be seen. and I doubt the zombies would think to check under that cardboard box.
