Okay I guess this is the official last bump I'm giving this topic...
I'd like to know what everyone thought of this topic.

Gordon Freeman & the Left 4 dead survivors

You could have just stopped at Gordon Freeman. You already know you'll live.
Then again I suppose you need someone good for conversation.

What makes gordon so badass?
Why does everyone like him? What makes him better than other videogame characters?
Even Michael was fapping to him in Doomsday arcade.

Well, on his first day working as a theoretical physicist at a top-secret subterranean lab network, he BROKE SPACE and then SURVIVED THE ONSLAUGHT OF HORRIBLE MONSTERS AND ARMED SOLDIERS TRYING TO EAT/MURDER HIM RESPECTIVELY. This was all with a crowbar, weapons he had no training with, and an MIT. You go do that, then you can have your own games.

Lets not get all hostile...I was just asking what was all the love for him and no others?
What makes him any better than any other FPS character?
From what you described not a whole lot.

I guess its just everyone fapping to Valve...nothing new *shrugs*

and if I were to get my own game, it would be super fantastic epic! I'd work my 9-5 job! and go on internet forums! and hang out with chums!!!!

Sorry, I didn't mean to seem hostile.

The reason he stands so tall above other FPS characters is because of his initiative, his raw survivalism, and his ability to get any job you place before him done - with an occassional degree of finesse. The Master Chief was trained from boyhood to be as awesome as he is, and we all know Marcus and Dom were in the army before the Locust joined the fun anyway. Add to that the CoD protagonists all being trained killers and such and you begin to see why Gordan Freeman is so well-repected.

Anyway, Valve are awesome. There's a reason they are fapped to ;D
