Zone of the Enders 2 - the tunnel part just before you blow your way into Auman.

And while I'd hesitate to to call dead space 2 awesome (I personally didn't dig it as much as 1), the eyepoke machine, pretty much killed any interest I had in a replay.

I mean this fucker right here.

Seconded whole heartedly. The only thing that made that room bearable was Ashley's armor in the PS2 port, and even then, that made the game super easy.

Aside from that, the meat circus from Psychonauts and Tree Tops in Spyro. Fuck, both of those places.

--DA:O: The Deep Roads takes hours and hours longer than I have patience for, almost quit halfway through. (Oddly, I didn't hate the Fade so much.)

--DX:HR: All the boss battles. Supposedly they made them less awful with a patch, but still, not interested in going through that again.

--Bioshock 1: Hacking. It's dull, time-consuming, and you have to do it SO much (you pretty much have to hack every health machine you come across, and there's a lot of other things you should hack.)

Have you ever been thinking about replaying one of your favorite games but then you remember that one part you really, really don't want to play through again?

For me it would have to be anything after Downtown in Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines. Those fucking warrens.

All the parts of Oblivion that actually take place in Oblivion itself are horrible. And they keep making you go back there over and over again.

I...I just can't do it. I can't even start the game or any of the previous titles anymore.

Atlantica and the Pride Lands in Kingdom Hearts 2. Love the game, but I really dislike those worlds. At least Atlantica is easy, if annoying.
You mean you don't wanna have a lot of finny fun?

I'd have to agree to this one. Man, you know what's worse? Last time I played through the two console games I swore to unlock everything and get the secret endings before beating the game. I had to 100% EVER. FUCKING. SONG. In Atlantica.
It was less annoying to backtrack and find all the Dalmatians.

But I liked the Pride Lands, so I have to disagree there.

I used to hate the Gummi Roads the first times I played the games, but on these new runthroughs I actually took a look at the customization options and had a lot of fun building my massive death machines. One I just titled "DEATH BLOCK" and it was just a big cube with lasers and rockets all over it with a cockpit on top and some huge boosters. Fun times.

This as well. And the knowledge that eventually you won't even be able to download the EC. Hell, even with that slapdash EC I still can't do it, I just can't. I tried a few months ago, recruited Liara and Mordin, and then thought of the ending and just couldn't bring myself to continue. Just no payoff whatsoever for all the effort required to reach the end. I've never actually reached the EC ending on my own game, watched it on YT, couldn't do it.

And the Ubermorphs from any of the Dead Space games. Just fuck them, whenever I remember those parts I just say screw it.

Finny fun/Swim this Way can go die in a fire for all I care.

As for the Pride lands, I hate how the combos work as a lion, and most of all I hate losing all the abilities (especially Guard and frigging Dodge Roll! Yes, I play the FM version) that I was so used to have. It's like suddenly, after spending quite a few hours playing a character, you're controlling another, different in nearly every way. I hate when games do that. And it doesn't help that you're fighting those damn shamans and the big creatures that spin like mad. The only good thing from that world is Donald being able to cast Cure three times for the price of one.

How unsurprising on these forums, a discussion about bad video game levels is slowly shifting into a debate about the use of the word "gay".
OT:
Dragon Age: Origins - The Fade (already mentioned but still)
Deus Ex: HR - Boss fights (already mentioned as well)
Oblivion - the endless Oblivion gates and most of the main story
Fallout: New Vegas - Vault 34

At first when I saw this thread I couldn't think of anything, but after thinking on it a bit I do have one game that sticks in my mind as having just one terrible section: Paper Mario. It's an amazing game with fun battles, witty humor and a (what was at the time) unique aesthetic. But there was one part, late in the game, where you had to play as Princess Peach; I usually enjoyed the Peach sections, one because they were fun and two because they helped to make the princess look not entirely helpless, but I digress. The part I hated about this late game section was that to proceed you had to bake a cake, a already tedious process which was only made worse by the fact that as you were baking the cake you actually had to time the baking process yourself. You had to cook the cake for exactly one minute, one second over or under and you had to start the whole process over. Ever time I did that section I had to get a goddamn stopwatch to proceed through the game.

I love Paper Mario, but I hate the cake baking section.

That part in Darksiders where you have to slowly move through sand to get to a series of platform while avoiding a giant worm demon. I get eaten repeatedly every time

Been having this problem with heroes of might and magic 3 recently. I love the game but the campaign AI opponents are so hideously OP it kills the fun.
Some of my favourite AI d*ckmoves:
- Making B-lines for poorly defended castles, even if there is no legit way for the AI to know anything at all about it's defences.
- Buying dozens of level 1 heroes with no army and upgraded speed. Their sole purpose is buzzing around my heroes, making me waste tons of time chasing and swatting them or they'll cheekily steal back lands my heroes just conquered.
- Always perfectly calculating how far my heroes can move next turn, and then stay 1 meter out of range of that. Thus forcing me to use multiple heroes to herd a single enemy hero into a corner, before I can even actually fight him.
And so on and so forth...

On top of that it seems the only way the developers knew of to make campaign maps more than just a skirmish vs the AI, was by giving the AI rediculous advantages. Examples: giving the AI 3 fully upgraded castles to start with while you get just a basic town. Or my personal favourite: a one-way portal going straight from the AI's main army-spewing castle to smack in the middle of your starting lands.

The AI is hardly unbeatable though, it just takes a looooot of turtling in your castles while growing an army to match his.

Borderlands 2 is a great game and all, but if I have to do the "Firehawk" side-missions again I may just scream.

Especially the quest where you have to deliver the midget Matchstick back to where you fight Captain Flynt.

Ugh.
Only did those quest once....I will never accept those quest ever again......

The Shadow Temple in pretty much any Zelda game, as they're always annoying and usually have creepy enemies.
Really? I enjoy the undead-holding dungeons for how creepy and difficult they are. What sucks about them is they are often late in the game. In Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time, I'd have to go through all the exposition and plot points. OoT also has the boring Forest Temple and the tedious Water Temple, though TP takes way more time shaping up the plot and environments.

I can see how you think OoT's Shadow Temple was annoying, with instant-knockout wallmasters and spike traps, redeads, and hover boot shenanigans. The atmosphere is still interesting, with torture instruments and haunting music.

The beginning of and, Water Temple of Majora's Mask. The beginning of Majora's Mask is slow and kind of tedious since you can't speed up time until you find the Ocarina.
Actually you can speed up time with by dancing with the the scarecrow before you obtain the ocarina. http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Stylin%27_Scarecrow.
Forgot about that...but does the scarecrow take you all the way to Midnight? I thought he could only take you as far as 6pm on the final day. Either way I do remember the Scarecrow Dance now.

Dead Space, Chapters 5 and 10. Dead Space 2, Last Chapter, and the last two chapters of Dead Space 3 Awakening... Awakened?

I hate the Hunter/Ubermorph so much, scares the living shit out of me. When Dead Space 3 threw two at you at once, I'd thought I'd just say; 'nope', but they're push overs with the new weapons. But the DLC made up for them, Randal Carr taking a page out of the Silent Hill book and creping me the fuck out. I was disappointed by the lack of psychotic fever dreams in DS 3, but the DLC was basically a fever dream in it's entirety.

But the original Hunter. Still the most scariest muthafucker of the series. Really embodies what a horror is supoosed to be about.

I always get this when I try to replay Shadows of The Damned. I get through the first few levels but then I remember the 'Big Boner' sequence and the 2-D Rail Shooter bits and I just give up. Say what you will about Zombie Baseball in Lollipop Chainsaw, atleast that was moderately quick, didn't feel too out of place and you had some degree of control! Here you've got three directions to aim in, monsters that rush at you and instantly kill you and if you don't get a headshot every time then guess what? You get to do the whole sedgement again! And it splits into three friggin' sedgements...

Best of all, The Big Boner? That awesome sniper weapon? Never gets used again!
