Otherwise, i personally think "the cake is a lie" is more iconic than cliché. its also really creepy, in whatever context you bring it up in. As pointed out by a previous poster, if done correctly, it is very effective. Writing it over and over with red crayon (or the sort), with increased speed and decreased strength would really creepy anyone out, whether they recognize it or not.
PS: the "FINISH HIM!" next to the flusher made me lol too. Unfortunately this one (and eventually the "princess" one) can easily become over-used. Unlike "the cake is a lie", which is more like a secret message slowly spreading across the world (today the toilet stalls, tommorow the world!)

I was watching the Japanese F1 Grand Prix last weekend, and toward the end of the race Kamui Kobayashi had stuck a set of soft tyres on during his last pit stop and was suddenly flying along much faster than the cars in front of him. Basically he jumps the TWO cars immediately ahead into a corner in a bit of a daredevil move, which to be fair he is bloody good at.
As the replay is being shown, the commentator comes out with "It's as if he just shouts to himself 'LEROY JENKINS' and off we go"! Combined with the fact we were both sitting playing WoW at the time, my flatmate and I were pretty much pissing ourselves laughing.
