On the day that it happened a housemate of a friend of mine went to his classes wearing a homemade screenprinted shirt.

Pictures of people falling out of the towers with the caption 'It's raining men!'

THAT IS TOO SOON. Also, actually shitty behaviour.

He had it forcibly taken off him by a very upset other student.
*clap*

It was mostly funny because I thought it was some sort of camera/car commercial. All of a sudden something exploded...I was between wtf and wtflol?!

Oddly enough I barely laughed at the Saving Pvt. Ryan video o_O

I tried to laugh, I really did and I even get the humor (I usually crack up at even the most messed up/offensive jokes), but I just couldn't bring myself to laugh.

I'm not saying that it doesn't have an ironic humor to it, or that you'r a bad person to laugh (please go ahead if you find it funny), but personally I can't bring myself to laugh (I'm a pretty big Nirvana fan).

I make "Too Soon" jokes all the time. A month or two ago I made a joke " I trust you as much as I would trust Natasha Richardson to be my ski instructor"

Yeah, somethings it's just to deep. I personally can't laugh at 9/11 jokes...I don't know it's just weird, or really sad war stories (Saving Pvt. Ryan).

A couple of days before Jade Goodie died I said something about Darwin. Can't remember what exactly but it was probably a bad thing to do.

Yeah, that's definately too soon. I'm all for making light of bad situations and freedom of speech, but things that took this many lives (especially civilian) shouldn't be taken lightly that soon. It's kind of like running to a funeral and laughing at the mourners. Just plain disrespectful.

The most important thing is to never forget...and if that requires injecting humor into a serious situation, so be it.

I was gonna make a crack about the World Racist Alliance being down one member, but my mum was actually crying when she found out. Apparently, over a short time she had actualy grown quite fond of her.

At my school after the series of school shootings one after another they decided to institute a policy that all of the class room doors had to be locked from the outside. I was in Journalism one day and we had a sub that is a complete ***** and hates my guts now and we were talking about the new policy and i said, Why do we have to lock the doors because some Omish kids shot up their school, nobody had brought up the omish shooting yet so everybody thought it was funny and the teacher yelled across the room that that was a false remark and terrible and that as a journalism student i should not the whole facts(yes she said know the whole facts). So i said oh you mean that the neighborhood milk man who was a non-morman enetered the school and killed X number of kids, i knew the number at the time not anymore. That shut her up. In retrospect a little to soon.

There are always a lot of joke circling around in england about tragic current news headlines, Madeline Mccann jokes, a young girl who went missing in portugal, spring to mind.(hide and seek champion of europe) Also there were a load of Diana jokes back in the day...

edit: just read the jade goodie thing and it reminded me what my friend said to me when she was still alive, he said "i told the guys at work to join in on a sweepstake where we each put £5 in and pick a day, whoever picks the right day of the week she dies wins. They all thought it was terrible, but I explained, this way I only want her to die one day of the week and thats a massive improvement on before!" I thought that was pretty funny.
