That pic is awesome, definitely not too soon, "too soon" was a few few weeks after it happened, not 8 years. This all could have been avoided if king kong was there to save it.

I seem to remembr a marijuana smoke cloud joke made from the image of the huge dust cloud the towers kicked up when they fell.

I remember that same month my teacher in HS sent me a pic of a guy standing on the observation deck of World Trade 1 and someone had photoshopped a plane heading towards in the background. The caption said "about to be a bad day", i thought that was pretty funny then.
The day after, my buddy photoshopped a picture of a giant spongebob holding an airplane, making an airplane sound, bringing it towards the towers. I giggled a bit. I wish I still had that pic.

There is a too soon, but not with that anymore. There's a rant somewhere about 9/11 by Keith Olbermann on youtube, but I'm not going to dig it up. It's not very funny, but it is about the twisting of that same event.

I remember someone once made a joke after Richard Hammonds car crash that "The most effective advert for speeding would surely be a video of Richard Hammond trying to remember his wedding day".

Wow. I want to play Rampage for my N64 again.

Oh, and that was HILARIOUS! I think that sometimes a bit of humor is what you need to get yourself happy about the world again (not mockery, surely, but something funny without being insulting to the opressed party).
I has it. SUCK IT! lol. Its probably one of the best games EVER.

There are always a lot of joke circling around in england about tragic current news headlines, Madeline Mccann jokes, a young girl who went missing in portugal, spring to mind.(hide and seek champion of europe) Also there were a load of Diana jokes back in the day...

edit: just read the jade goodie thing and it reminded me what my friend said to me when she was still alive, he said "i told the guys at work to join in on a sweepstake where we each put £5 in and pick a day, whoever picks the right day of the week she dies wins. They all thought it was terrible, but I explained, this way I only want her to die one day of the week and thats a massive improvement on before!" I thought that was pretty funny.
I remember being told the Madeline McCann jokes not along after the little brat went missing.

Q: What's worse than letting Michael Jackson babysit your children?

A: Letting the McCanns take them on holiday.

or

Q: Did you hear about the new Renault car - it has just enough room in the boot for a small child?

A: They're calling it the Renault McCann.

I thought the jokes were quite amusing. I had no sympathy for the McCanns anyway, so it didn't bother me...

I think it was Frankie Boyle that said that on Mock the Week

There still are a load of diana and maddie 'jokes' if you read the Daily Express. If those two never existed I'm sure their entire paper would consist of the words 'insert content here'.

On topic I'd say its soon during the week it happened but after that its fair game to comment in your own way, it helps to lessen the blow. If anything its more disrespectful to use events like 9/11 to serve your own agenda as is the case with the recent the middle east is evil fear politics strategy.

................tee hee
What happened when Curtmiester quoted me? He got AIDS. *Nothing*
....*whispers* touché
What happens when a joke gets old? You get AIDS.
What happens when you have too much unprotected phone sex?
You get hearing AIDs. Ba-dum tish.
*silence*
