Your new trailer along recent gameplay videos has now convinced me to actually buy you, and on PC/Origin first.

I haven't been interested in a Battlefield game since 3. What's your advice guys?

Meh. just another rehash. nothing more nothing less.

plus its basically battlefield feminist/SJW edition. it make CODWW2 looks like historically accurate.

Looks at comment section...

...wow, people are really pissed the USSR isn't a playable faction (I think, I don't speak Russian).

What exactly sold you in that trailer that the previous trailers and gameplay videos didn't?
Actually. Its taking a better look at the gameplay that sold me. The simplest thing that grasp me is the mere gun sounds and animations that you use. Now this may same a small thing, but as guy that has played so many FPS games. Sometimes just have the guns and vehicles feel like when you play them makes a whole difference.

Like I just wanna play this game so I can fire that STG-44 and Kar98k and M1A1 Carbine.

And I feel like playing a multiplayer shooter that has vehicle combat.

There's pretty much nothing that EA/DICE can do to get me interested. I loathe DICE shooters. Battlefield especially. They're absolutely terribly designed in every way imaginable. I just can't believe that they let DICE ruin Battlefront with their shitty design philosophy.

As someone who waited 16 years for Battlefield to return to the war that was always the best fit for its gameplay in the first place, I'll probably get it. Not because I want to, but because it may be time for me to finally concede that this is as good as it's ever going to get. I played the Beta and the gunplay was solid, but when the highest praise I can give it is that it looks like it's fixed most of the fuckups Battlefield 1 had, that's not very encouraging.

It looks gorgeous. But it's not a battle. It's 4 or 8 vehicles at a time with everyone else in a skirmish on foot. Where's the whirling mass of aircraft that once swarmed over Britain and the Coral Sea? The legions of tanks that smashed each other and fortifications at Aberdeen and El Alamein? Where are the whole fleets, submarines, heavy bombers, landing craft, Russians, Japanese, Canadians, Eastern Front, Pacific theatre, torpedoes, bazookas, etc etc etc?

All we wanted was an expanded BF 1942, us players who were there from the start. Instead we're getting barely half the launch content, with WW2 looking like an utter circus. I'm definitely not getting it until all the reviews are out, because it's not a game I would usually buy.

But if Battlefield doesn't return to WW2 again until 2034, what choice have I got, really?

BF3 and BF4 were sale purchases for me, more than a year after release, and BFV looks like the same thing. (I never touched BF1.) DICE refuse to learn anything from the issues it's had to fix in previous games, whether it be about weapon balance, map design, team balancing, or bugfixing, and it's likely to be at least several months before they iron out the problems.

Because that would get in the way of what modern BF players want: Open fields and loads of clueless infantry for sweet sniping montages.

Ain't that the sad truth. Bad Company 2 has so much to answer for...

Replay the older game that did things better. Save your money for the next one to come that does it right. When EA dropped the ball on Sim City, Cities: Skylines picked it up. If something doesn't meet your expectations, it doesn't deserve your business.

Last one I played seriously was 2142. Remind me, does BFV have a story campaign?

I was already sold once I actually got solid info on how the game would actually play. After wading through the drivel and learning that this is the first game in the series in years to actually take steps towards giving the game some depth and requiring some thinking on the part of the player, I couldn't be happier.

Actually needing to manage your ammo and health again, shooting at players instead of doritos, learn-able recoil, needing to put some thought into where and how you move due to bullet penetration. After playing the beta for myself and seeing how it has improved through the early release footage I haven't been this excited about a BF game since Bad Company 1.

Its just a shame this game was held back by a few bad trailers and a joke of a "controversy"

I wouldn't call it a story campaign, it's like BF1 where they have like 4 mini-stories which are like a little more than one hour each.

At this point, they might as well just get rid of the singleplayer and focus on the multiplayer if you ask me.

I'm probably gonna give this a pass. It looks cool and all, but I thought that about Battlefield 1 and that turned out to be total bollocks. A paltry 5 hour 'single player campaign' with no narrative flow, tacked on as an afterthought just so that they could boast a single player campaign, and a 'realistic' WW1 multiplayer with everyone running around with SMGs and LMGs. No thanks. Fool me once, and all that...

Then wait until it's 40% off because the singleplayer isn't worth paying for. It's there just to please the ''I need muh campaign in every game'' people.

BF1 was $20 with Titanfall 2 a couple months back. That's like a year after release.

It's amazing what a little waiting can get you. 2 AAA games for $10 each? Yes Please.
