Yes, it happened yesterday. It was all over their twitter. Thanks to the IT staff here at the Escapist, it's been dealt with.

Yeh, Escapist went down, along with Eve, LoL, Minecraft, and some software companies site.

I'm honestly surprised there isn't some announcement or something. I honestly expected one.

I was confused by the "Titanic Tuesday Takedown" of whatever the hell it was called. They targeted sites deliberately to irritate gamers. You know, the vast majority of their support?

I know they did it for the 'Lulz', but there should be at least some reasoning behind it.

Oh, and if the BBC became untrustworthy, there would be NO reliable source of news. And the ddos attacks were on the BBC?

Aye. Apparently we we being rude to them, and hurt deir widdle feewings.

They're currently "Taking requests" for targets, and using nothing but DDoS attacks, meaning they're neither working at any political goal nor achieving anything clever and pointing out security flaws. They're motivated by nothing but sadism. Sorry. A will to do things "For teh Evulz"

Also, you trusted BBC news? Really?

Yeah, the site was down for a few hours, but it went back online and it seems that information was left intact. I hope so.
Besides that, the BBC is a very trustworthy news outlet. Don't trust the french news outlets though, because I've seen some obscure and utterly false shit fly under their radar.

That's a low blow, I was pretty confused actually, I cleaned my registries like 5 minutes before the attack, and then when I went on, I was afraid my PC had fucked up and deleted my access to the server, then when it got back online, my connection to the Escapist kept on timing out.

And also, checking BBC's article it says this:

BBC said:
The organisations and companies that it targets are often portrayed as having acted against the interests of citizens or consumer
This isn't something I could picture the Escapist doing, so why would they take us down?

Unless there's a conspiracy!
