Never played it, and I always regretted it. I'm very much looking forward to this HD remake. Will be a day 1 purchase and probably a day 2-3 finish.

Doesn't look interesting to me. Plus there are other games I'd rather buy.

The game is quite long and has a multitude of side quests, so I'd be surprised if you beat after 2 days (assuming that you don't play it non-stop, of course).

As some of you may know, there's HD re-release Okami in the works, scheduled for a world wide release this autumn on Playsation 3.

This may be actually new to some of you, so here's a trailer:

[sub][sub]Just gimme a sec, got something in my eye here...[/sub][/sub]

*clears throat*

Now it's no secret how much I love this game, so it's a given that I'm picking this up and soon as it's available.

I'm more interested in what you guys think.

Have you played Okami before? If so, what did you think of the game? Will you be getting the HD release?

Some of you may not have played the game at all, in which case, what the fuck have you been doing are you interested in the game?
Yeah I've been interested in this game for quite some time, but I don't have a PS2, Wii or a DS(to my knowledge)

Which is why I could never play it

Bought it on original release on PS2 and have played and finished it multiple times absolutely love the game but wont be getting the HD remake as I know I wont play it again for a while due to time constraints and the fact that there are other games I want to play (and dont have time for either). Plus my PS3 hard drive is filling up again despite the fact I deleted loads of my games and I still have the PS2 set up with all my old Okami saves anyway so I will just play that one nice new visuals is not worth 15 pounds or whatever they are going to charge for it.

Are they adding Trophys to this game? I hope not I think it would detract from this game rather than add to it, not my problem though.

Finally, a decent reason to get PSMove. I got to see it for the first time when a friend got it for his birthday, I thought it was awesome. When it came out for the Wii I got it then and have loved it, also have Okamiden.
I definitely prefer painting with motion controls so I will probably wait until I can get the PSMove cheap.
I got one question. Like the others that have said it, is Okamiden inferior to its original, Okami?

My impression from Okamiden is that the devs were trying to replicate everything about Okami.

The problem with this idea, is that the hardware for the DS just isn't good enough to support a game that's built like Okami.

The combat is boring as hell and the world just feels lifeless compared to Okami.

I played it on the Wii but stopped playing after about an hour and a half.
Im not sure if its possible to really see what is so great about the game in an hour and half. Im not saying you'd definately like it if you stuck with it, but stopping so early is like stopping ocarina of time before you even reach hyrule field.
Well maybe I'll give it go another time. I have been playing games all my (long) life though, so I usually have a good feel for where a game is going, whether it can surprise me, and if I'm going to enjoy it. Never liked Ocarina of Time either BTW, crossing Hyrule field was about the only part of that game I did enjoy (yet I rank Wind Waker and Majora's Mask amongst the best games I've ever played).

Okami is like The Legend of Zelda.
Only better in every conceivable way.
>.> you know, i kind feel the same about Darksiders, both of them.

and while those games MAY achieve 'classic' status, Okami WAS a classic from day 1 (and this is from some one who fucking LOVES Darksiders).

however, due to a lack of PS3 i will not be getting the HD remake, not that this bothers me, i have the PS2 version still :D

I haven't played it, but since its original release I've been interested in it. Will definitely be buying it. Amaterasu ftw.

I haven't played it no, but I will get it when this comes out. That is for certain. <3
Oh you little piece of those unfortunate enough to miss this gem of PS2. I absolutely hate Okami in a same way I hate Skyrim or Witcher 2 I just dont have time to paly them. The whole game is a masterpiece. Artstyle, music, combat, puzzles, Ammy. Amaterasu is a fucking badass lady!

Seeing as I never experienced it during the PS2 era or afterwards, this will be a nifty treat for me. Everyone treats it as the treasure of artsy games, so I expect it might be something I'll enjoy.

I actually never played this game. I planned too, but I didn't. So I'll definitely be picking this up!

The thing with motion controls, is that painting is easier, but combat is a pain in the arse.
I very whole-heartedly agree. When I first got the game I couldn't figure out how to attack (I was admittedly just flailing the wii-mote). Eventually I learned to time my swings. I would definitely want a button for attacking in the HD version.

Since his plan to make you feel bad hasn't worked, I know a way that will make you feel bad:

OT: I've never actually played Okami, even though tons of times before I've looked at it in the Wii section of my local gaming shop and gone "I really should get that", then gone with another game. I'll definitely be picking this up sometime or another, when I can get myself off Borderlands 2 enough to play it.

I'm desensitised to ponies now, like a war veteran is to violence :D

If you're willing to wait, pick up the HD version.

The Wii version is alright, but the combat is pretty poor because of the Wiimote.

Damn, now I don't have a way that will guarantee your anger. Well, I do, but it will most likely get me banned if I post it, or even a link to it.

And yeah, I am gonna wait for the HD version, especially since I don't even own my Wii anymore. Which was a stupid decision, seeing as I can't transfer my VC and WiiWare games to the Wii U when I get it.

Wow, gotta say that trailer showed a very beautiful game. Having never owned a PS2, I never got to play this, as well as other last generation gems, so I'm happy that this is getting ported into an HD remake. Can't wait to try it.
