Just about to complete SC:Chaos Theory again as I found it cheap. (And immediately remembered how hard some of the objectives were if playing full-stealth)
Also just played Rogue Spear and Age of empires 1 :)

Deperessing in a way, I just spent a load on a new gaming PC and only play old games

Currently playing Legend of Dragoon, actually. Not because of nostalgia, mind you. No, I always heard it was good, but never played it. A year ago I even found it on sell for $50. I was so tempted to pick it up, but didn't. I couldn't justify it.

Then, glory of all glories, I found that it was added to PSN as a PSOne Classic. The rest, is history. Or something like that. Who knows?

Now, if they will only add a few more of my favorite PSOne games, I will be very happy. Come on Legend of Legaia, Mega Man Legends, and Breath of Fire 3. I know you're out there.

Recently I've gone through the old Spyro the Dragon series and Medievil on the PSX and the Jak and Daxter series on PS2.

I admit, Vice City is still damn good, but as a completionist I need to have a big chunk of time spare if I'm going to play it.

I tried to play Road Rash the other day, but sadly the disk has perished from old age and scratches :(

I recently pulled out my old copy of Knights of the Old Republic and threw it in my 360. Man, that game really runs badly on the 360.

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. You really just can't beat that game (at least in my opinion. There's still a dedicated modding community 10 years post release so i can't be alone in that opnion).

I heard that there's a mod out there that uses Oblivion's engine to run a linear version of Morrowind's storyline... tempting for me because I loved a lot of Morrowind, but I could not stand the combat.

I recently dusted off the old cel-shaded FPS XIII, featuring the voice talents of Adam West and David Duchovny. Not the greatest shooter ever made, but it has a certain unique charm to it.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

Damn, playing this game again reminds me just how great is was. Little things like temporarily disrupting the lights, throwing objects/whistling to get guards attention, even the ability to instantly throw a guy over your shoulder when you kill him/knock him out, they're all conspicuously absent from conviction.

That being said, the game controls like ass, but the sheer number of ways to progress through an area are staggering.

Do I blow the lights, then knife all the alerted enemies in the back? Stalk them one by one and drop them all unconscious in a corner? Create a distraction and then slip passed them completely unnoticed? Or do I charge in guns blazing?

This is how you do a linear stealth game. It's no wonder CT is still held up as a pinnacle in the genre.

Add in dynamic background noise (you can be louder in areas with higher background noise without alerting enemies) and the ability to complete the entire game not killing anyone other than certain targets and you have my favorite stealth game of all time.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Conviction, but it moved too far in the action direction to be a decent stealth game anymore.

Nuttin'. I'm sort of waiting until I get a job / some xmas money. Really, games aren't interesting me that much anymore. I'm considering Morrowind for Xbox from a used game store, but I honestly don't really want the headache of whether it will work properly in my 360. I'm thinking of preordering Assassin's Creed 3 for a discount at Best Buy and that about does it for my new games purchases for the year. I want Borderlands 2, but only if it's cheap. I have Saints Row 2 and 3 "sitting on my shelf," but I played about an hour of 2 and couldn't stand the weird controls or hideous graphics. I did go back and play some Geometry Wars Galaxies for a little bit and had some fun. The Kirby Anniversary box is also appealing, but I don't want to spend the money.

I was playing through Kingdom Hearts 2, but I got kinda bored with it, plus I knew I'd have to suffer through that Little Mermaid shit. "Finnie fun!" *shudder*

Soooo... I might go and play Resident Evil 4... again. I also need to bide my time till the release of Okami HD.

Maybe you can help me with something: Back in my playthrough I got obsessed with the Bloodring- mastering control of your derby car on the uneven ground with cars exploding all around you was just about the best minigame GTA ever had for me. To win you had to rack up one minute's worth of time, but once I beat that it became 2... then 3... etc.

Do you know if it ever reaches an end? Or does it go on forever?

Destruction Derby Raw and Gran Turismo 2.
I swear, I have no idea how I did all this crap when I was younger. I thought the games got easier when you get older.

Neverwinter Nights! Man I love that game! So fun, although it was a game where you can make the game really really damn hard by not planning skills and the like early on!

I do love the game though! :D

You've run out of games, don't feel like playing the new ones or are just in a mood for a good kick straight in the nostalgia.
What is the choice of the well mannered gaming community of the Escapist?

Starting this thread is GTA: Vice City. My current re-re-replay.

Crazy missions.

Awesome characters.

Fucking brilliant soundtrack [http://tinyurl.com/d4kp4ap]

Also it looks bitchin' in 3D.
Good choice OP.
Before Borderlands2 came out, I was playing through San Andreas again. I love last gens GTAs, even the "Stories."
I was also popping Burnout Revenge in the ps2; I've taken to playing crash junctions and takedowns with the Blues Bros soundtrack playing.

relevent capcha: play again

...why yes I think I will

The original Shin Megami Tensei game for SNES.

Is actually surprisingly enjoyable considering how old it is and what genre. Older RPG's don't tend to be stellar, or at least compel me in the same way.

Is there a localized version of SMT1 floating around or are you just one of those crazy geniuses that can read Japanese?
