[...]- One game that i remember well, it's a full 2D game where you control a small space ship, and each level have a boss with some minions roaming the screen.
the goal is to "draw" lines moving your ship out from the edges, that keeps you safe, creating walls, reducing the free space for the enemy, you complete a level if you're able to cover a % of the map, or destroing the boss if you get some power ups if i remember well.
There are, infact, some gray cubes that if you draw a line around it, gives you some power ups, some ones have a red center, those gives you the most powerful ones.
The ship is destroid if it touch enemies or an enemy's bullet out the edges, and even if an enemy touch the line you're drowing (it creates a red dot that follow the line really fast and then hit you). There was a time limit, if it expire the ship won't be protected when on edges anymore.
A thing that i remember well is a level that had something like robotics hands as enemies.
I couldn't tell you the exact game, but it's almost definitely a Qix clone.
As you quite rightly put it, you need to section off areas of the stage while avoiding enemies. Once a certain percentage of the level is covered, you progress to the next. Sounds exactly like Qix to me, though there are a large variety of Qix clones, it should be easier knowing the clone base ^^

Hope that helps.
Volfied is probably the version you are looking for ( http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/582563-volfied-fm-towns-screenshot-the-giant-blue-hand-tries-to-kill.png )

I'm reposting these 2 requests because I really want to find the name of at least the 2D PC Game.

Hello, I'm looking for an old PC game I used to play a lot as kid, I remember that in its name there was "Odyssey" or something similar.

The game is a 2D platform, you play as a yellow upside down-stretchy "U" thing and in order to get past tight/narrow areas, you had to hold down the down arrow key and that guy "squeezes" and you could get past, also in some other areas you had to stretch.

The overall world was kinda blueish with random things over there and over there, some enemies that could get killed by stomping (not actually sure about that, but there were enemies) and overall cool sound effects and music.

The game was probably a Windows 95/98 one, for OBVIOUS reasons there are some titles I exclude due to Google searches I previously did:

- Oddworld: Abe's Oddyssee
- Odyssey: The Search for Ulysses

Good luck and I hope you guys can really help me out, I've asked anywhere and this is my latest hope !!!

I remember about a NES game I played as kid where you play as a ninja or something red-colored and you kill ninjas, 2D Platformer subdivided in 2 "episodes":

In one (maybe the first one) you climb up a mountain or something while fighting these dark ninjas, in the second one you are inside a building with large floors.

First post here- my head is killing me trying to remember this game.

All I remember about this game is that is was probably made in the 90's (I played in maybe 13 years ago? Can't remember) and it was a dinosaur game. You walked around a museum(?) and I remember it being kind of dark and gloomy, and I believe it was first person. The only thing of game play I remember doing is that you could look at bones of the dinosaurs that were on the sides of the museum. I don't remember what else... I have a faint memory of I think digging up the bones?
That's all I know! And the graphics weren't cartoon-ish, they were as real as 90's games could provide, and it was a PC game.

Any ideas? My brain insists that I know what this game was.

It wouldn't be one of the Ninja Gaiden games? I remember some of them having a red/blue tone thing going with the colour scheme, and you would be platforming on a 2D side scrolling level.

Hello.

First post, could you please help me find a game from around 4-5 years ago. It is for the PC, its based on evolution, you start the game as a small fish, start eating other fish then you turn into a small dinosaur and have to survive on an island eating dinosaurs, starting with the small ones. You also can make modifcations to your dinosaur and improve his attack and defense abilities.

Hopefully this makes sense to someone and I really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hello guys,

also have another one to ask please, its alot more recent. I used to play Total Annihilation back in the day but a new version was released around 3-4 years ago and was based on a much bigger scale, and I am quite sure they changed the name from Total Annihilation to something else, the desginer is still Chris Taylor. Anyone got any idea what Total Annihilation changed its name to around 3-4 years ago? Similar concept much larger scale?

Many thanks guys.

I'm looking for a game I used to play on the computers at my school around 2005-2006. It was an old top-view adventure game, I'm pretty sure in black and white. You wandered the map fighting monsters, and if you found the castle and went through a maze, you could steal all of the king's treasure and fight your way out. I think with the money you could buy spells or potions.

Awesome thread,

I have been searching for game I played as a kid and usually only have one or two scenes to work with.

I already found Blake Stone : Aliens of Gold.I only had the demo ,but great fun none the less.

However, there are two games I am dying to find.

First game was a 2D platformer. I remember a scandily clad woman running around Jurassic Park-like setting, killing dinosaurs with her SCEPTER ,from which she shoots fireballs. It is possible that there was no scepter and she shot fireballs through her arms.
I remember that the first boss was a huge dinosaur that you had to jump up and down a tree, while shooting him.

The second game almost feels like a dream to me.It was a first person shooter.
As you start the game, you are in a hallway with open ceiling (like a labyrinth) and you have to fight a creature that looked like a bull.
After defeating it,you moved forward to find a healing potion.I believe you had a scepter again.
The game had huge open spaces. On the second level, you could enter portals to move through the arenas.
I remember big skeletons shooting at me (enemies were not in hordes, rather they were scarce and spreaded out).

What was remarkable about the second game is that on the second level with the skeletons and portals, you always seemed to have a mist around you and couldn't see more than 5 feet ahead of you.

This is all I remember. It was all more than 8 years ago.You will fill a significant portion of my childhood blank spots,if you help me find these games.

Thank you! :)

Not sure how active this thread is. But i am missing a game i played way back in the early 90s on PC.

You're like a small tank unit, its played from above in squares (you move 1 square per movement) if i don't remember wrong and you have to move around and solve puzzles and stuff to get further in the level / game. Its very simple but so addictive if anyone can remember id be so very happy to know.

I remember this game where you could choose between two characters. A boy who could transform into monsters using coins he obtained after beating them, I remember this game because it was on a dmeo disc with many other game demos that came with the Vangrant story video game. If you know the name of the game I am describing please tell me because that game was fun.

Hi, I remember about 5-10 years ago playing a game where you are a blue/red (you got to choose I think) blob-like thing with a headband on where you basically just shoot things. You start off outside and it is raining then you go inside and start shooting enemies I think. The 2nd level involved shooting care bear sort things I think, in a happy rainbow sort of setting. I played it on PC. That's pretty much all I can remember but if anyone can help me out here that would be awesome because this is really annoying me.

Also it was side scrolling. Forgot to mention that.

This is what the main character looks slightly like from what I can recall.

Sounds like another Qix clone, heck ... might even be Qix it's self. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qix
Any other details?
