Hello. I am trying to find a game from around 10, 12 years go. I remember the commercial for it. ( It's been stuck in my mind for all of these years, though I never did get a chance to play the game itself. )

I remember the commercial started off with a house out in the country. A tree limb had fallen on it during a storm. It then started going back in time and the house disappeared and then eventually the tree too. Then a guy was shown walking backwards across the screen and the commercial started playing again. Old west attire, like out of a movie.

He spit out the seed that eventually turned into the tree.

It then showed the words, 'Every action has a consequence.'

It then cut to gameplay footage. It was kind of old school animated Japanese style from back in those days. Probably the best we had at the time for graphics.

One thing I distinctly remember is you're driving this big robot thing with arms and planting trees. It shows you changing the environment and how it's progressing over time. You can literally change the world in it.

You controlled a number of little people to do stuff. I think though I could be wrong, that the game ran constantly, even when not on so that the world was constantly evolving.

It was for the gamecube. That point was where it cut out to the name of the game, but I can not for the life of me recall what it said.

Hey there, I'm here to try and find an old 3d "point and click" adventure with quick time events.
The details I know about it is as follows:
Maabus! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaNCAUtwxKQ I remember this advertisement for it, but never played it.

I am surprised this thread is still active, I have found quite a few games from my childhood, but there is one I still can't find. It was a point and click adventure game that was really similar to maniac mansion but may have been a third party rip off of it. It was either on win95 or 98. It was halloween themed. There were 2 main floors and on the top floor to the right there was a laboratory that had an assistant similar to an "Igor" type hunchback. From what I remember this game was fairly easy to die in, once you die you have to start completely over. There was also a dog that was next to a trapdoor, I think you had to use a whistle or meat to get past it. Any help would be appreciated.
Sounds like Hugo's House of Horrors.

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to remember the name of a game I used to play on hot seat multiplayer with my brother. It wasn't a mainstream game (even at the time), although I can't remember where I found it... You played as a space soldier (or something like that) and it had a top-down view. There were different weapons and objectives on each of the levels but basically you had to defend a base from Aliens. And I remember that the soundtrack was basically MIDI and the title screen had a very cartoon-ish (almost anime, actually) drawing of a space soldier in a green armour and a bandana.
It was a really cool game, but I can't remember it's name... If anyone knows, please tell me :)
maybe Alien Breed 2

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_Breed_2:_Assault

The other Alien Breed games are also fun.

@ above.. Maybe it was Road Wars: http://games.gamepressure.com/game_info.asp?ID=1040

I joined solely to ask the gurus of this thread if they could please help me out. It was a school computer game I played in 3rd grade (1999). Sorry if I'm too vague as this was a really long time ago.

The first was a side scroller where you would navigate the whole screen like a maze and earn pieces for a car that you continually upgrade and race by rapidly tapping the space bar. I believe it came on a disc (maybe it was an educational game) along with the next ones I'm gonna list.

In the next you played as a little girl and there were three different activities you could do but I can only remember one at the moment. You were in a kitchen and her dad was outside mowing the yard and you could see him through the window as you clicked on specific food items and put them in a blender. The goal was to finish making the recipe before he got finished mowing the lawn.

The last game is probably the one I remember the least. It didn't have a goal or challenge, it was just for entertainment. There were different sized spheres that you would drag and place on intersecting lines in the middle of the screen. The spheres would change size as they moved across the lines and the color of the four square that were made by the lines would also change as well.

I know nobody has no idea what I'm talking about but it would be an extreme nostalgia trip if I could track at least one of these down or if anyone knows how I could look up different educational games from that time it would be great as well. Thanks a lot.

Hi guys, I remember playing this game when I was about 8 or 9 (am 20 in a few days) and I remember starting off outside of a house/tree house thing in the middle of a desert and then you went into an old mine, I'm not sure if there was any combat but thats all I've got for now :/. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit, It was on a demo disc with a tony hawks game or something similar and it was either a ps1 or ps2 game
That sounds a lot like Uru: Ages Beyond Myst...but that wasn't on the Playstation, as far as I'm aware.

Hmm...there aren't too many 'god games' on the Gamecube.

Doshin the Giant was one of them, but the way you described the world evolving even when the game wasn't on...that sounds a lot like Animal Crosssing.

Have wracked my brain on this one can't figure it out.

2d sidescrolling platformer in the vein of the old Apogee platformer. PC game, I remember it being shareware.

Blue protagonist in the shape of a rectangle with only 3 sides (you basically look like a big mouth with eyes). You have a whole family that looks just like you, with small varying characteristics like long hair, lipstick for the mom and sis...

In the beginning your house burns down and you go on a quest.
Down in the dumps? Although thats isn't a platform game, it's an adventure game.

There's a game that I played when I was younger but can't remember the name. It was for PS1 or PS2. The cover was all black with a sword on the cover (if I remember right). The game was an RPG game with a guy that traveled through different places (or worlds, can't remember)with a sword that took on different characteristics. Unfortunately my memory is very vague. Each place traveled through was like another level of the game. One place was like a circus type setting with evil beings and there was a sword covered with poison ivy that could be used. Another thing I remember is the last place or level of the game was in a cave where you had to kill a dinosaur type creature. This was a horror action type of game. Anyone have any idea what game I am thinking of?
That kind of sounds like Devil May Cry, but it wasn't an RPG.
No, it's not Devil May Cry. Thanks for the reply though.

I have a game I really want to know the name of. It was an animal camping game where, as it sounds, there were animals who went camping and you completed their mini games. I vaguely remember a few games, such as pairs with canoes or jumping on the back of turtles to get across the river. I really want to play the game again but I can't until I know the name.

You may be thinking of more than one game here. "controlled a number of little people" sounds like Pikmin for Gamecube. Changing the landscape sounds like Dark Cloud for PS2...
I know it wasn't pikmin. I've played pikmin. Both one and two, and really want to get my hands on number 3.

A friend already suggest Dark Cloud and I checked it out. It's not it.

I remember it being specifically for the Gamecube because I had a gamecube and got really, really excited because I'd be able to play it.

the game i'm looking for is a PC game

it's open world

one player so you wont meet any other human players

not sure exactly how old it is but i think it cant be past 2008

its turn based

the story is you are a slave (possibly servant or just poorly taken care of and forced to do chores) anyway it starts off with you having to kill rats (maybe spiders) in the attic with a stick. After you finish and go down to the person who gave you the request (her master) and then it gets a little foggy but you get really mad and you use magic with the stick from earlier and learn that for century's no one could use magic with a stick it had to be a metal rod. so the people who were going to take your masters son to go to the school of magic or something like that decide to take you instead. so about 5 years later (not sure the exact amount of time) then you have to fight the person who trained you as a final exam. thats about all i remember.

also this is the second time i had to post this so can someone please find it!

I'm trying to find a game that I played on the PC back in the late 90's early 00's. I think it may have been on Disc as a Demo or a full game, I only played what was the first mission because I got stuck or scared. It involved entering a Theatre or Cabaret club. It looked like one of those really old Theatres. It was completely empty apart from a Magician who stood on stage and did some magic tricks. I then remember he magically pulled you towards him down the middle of the aisle. Then I can't remember quite how, but you're in a room backstage. There is a voice calling for help but you cannot see the person. There is a magicians box in the middle of the room and I assumed he was in the box, but because I was so young I always got stuck at this part and got scared so turned the game off. I remember the magician at the start looked somewhat like Dracula. The camera angle was strange also. Not first person, but it would look at you wandering around the room like a CCTV camera almost. I seem to remember a human eye being part of the HUD, but I'm not entirely sure. Been looking for this game for years now. Please help.

Ok, I have one. It was on the PS2 and it was some Japenese car racing game set in a weird fantasy world where all the cars were sentient. It had a totally open world, a car princess, and from memory a custom town creation system. I feel that Rally was in the title, but again I don't remember for sure.
