I don't think of games in ages like we generally do films or books.
Seeing as to how games are rarely relative to current times or issues, it's sort of a pointless way to look at them. Mario is timeless and can be played at any time and enjoyed. It's like the difference between the Bourne books and films. I enjoy the films because they're relatable right now, but the books are hard to sit through because he doesn't have access to simple, current technology like a cellphone or a laptop since the original was written in good ol' 1980. Technological thrillers become pointless when the technology becomes outdated.
As far as what I would consider to be "old" technology...anything pre-disc format, I suppose. I still love the feel and reliability of a nice cartridge, though.
