As a kid I saw this movie. I have a vague recollection it and I remember only (part) of the ending.

Some people/family/friends are gathered in a spot (I guess a house or so), when an old man with a cane enters (the cane might be blue of colour).
He introduces himself and says that the purpose of his visit is to take a young kid with him to become his successor. The man displays some magical powers of some sort.

There is some sort of argument over who is to let go of his kid. In the end one is selected. Of course there's a lot of drama involved in the selection proces...

I believe the movie ends with the kid (a boy) being brainwashed and the old man and the kid are standing on the rim of some high structure/a mountain.

Storm of the Century, a made for T.V. Stephen King mini series.

There was a movie way back when that we never called by its title, just Jojo (JoeJoe? Fuck it.). The most I remember about the plot was that some kids/teens go into a museum, walk out, get in a little rowboat, go into a cave, and come out to go through the entirety of prehistory while strangely barely seeing any dinosaurs. The most significant moment that happens in the dinosaur bit is a fight between a Stegosaurus and Ceratosaurus. For the record the prehistoric animals are stop-motion.

Another movie I'd like help with:

This black guy had a son who had to be taken to the emergency room. The doctors tried to usher him out, and then started surgery right in front of him, which caused him to freak out a bit. It wasn't too gory, but probably worse than an elementary schooler like me should've been allowed to see!

Also, there was some talk about a disease and a bit at the end where an EKG of a little girl started to drop but then recoveredin the nick of time - as if that narrows it down at all.
Maybe "John Q?"

It's a Denzel Washington movie about a guy whose son needs a heart transplant, but his insurance doesn't cover it so he goes to the hospital and holds the doctors at gunpoint to try and get them to do the surgery. The movie is from 2002, so depending on your age it may or may not have been out while you were in elementary school.

Sounds about right. I meant middle school, as my scoutmaster would often watch those kinds of movies while we were in a patrol meeting. He was a cool guy, but totally insane.

Eternal gratitude from someone you will never meet if you can answer either of these.

Of all the half forgotten movies i have seen throughout my life. There are two movies that I have not found. I have very vague recollections of both and every now and then their memory surfaces to taunt me. So here goes.

First and likely the easiest. An asian action movie based around the usual criminal good guy bad guy. The movie focused heavily on action scene ala in a typical asian fashion very kinetic. The hero and bad guy both weild guns in an almost balletic fashion much like Equilibrium. At some point in the movie the good guys shooting hand is maimed and he relearns his skills and seeks revenge. Honestly the movie is likely utter crap bu the memory of it infuriates me.

The second... wow if someone gets this.
When I was around 12-14 this will be about 1993. A cartoon movie was shown on tv. of a style VERY similar to miyzaki. So japanese in style although honestly I am not 100% sure anymore. It was not an overly violent movie. nor was it western child friendly. It had peril : / jesus this description.
The protagonist was a young boy. I am not sure but i think he was trying to rescue a girl.
During the movie there are several Extremely large robots running amok. Massive things very VERY simply designed and coloured equally similar. primary colours. They were rounded in shape rather than sharp edged.
I think i remember that the hands of one of the robots being detachable it could fire them.
It is not Miyazaki's http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092067/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_18 Castle in the sky although it gave me shivers when i first found this movie because i thought i found it.

Anyways. I'm not holding out hope. But please if anyone recognizes the names of these movies from my poor description. HELP! :D

I have the dumbest scene in my head from one of those 1980s movies about high school.

The school gets all the boys to do a drug test. So they all line up in the bathrooms to piss in cups.
Some one brought in a carton of apple juice, and a few boys fill their cups up with with the apple juice instead of pissing in the cups.

The boys with juice in the cups go to hand over the "urine sample" but do something like
"wait a sec" one drinks from the cup and spits it out and says "this aint me pee!"

anyone know this movie?

Ack, there are three that I would love to know the names of.

Unfortunately I saw them when I was *really* young and can only remember a scene or two. A real challenge for you buffs!

1) It was a black and white horror movie about a huge swarm of killer ants. Not giant ones - just masses of smaller ones. I vaguely recall the heroes throwing dynamite out of a log cabin into a massive river of ants.

2) Another killer swarm of ants movie. The clearest I can remember is two characters in some sort of barn. I think one was on a ladder and got his head stuck. The ants swarm over and eat it and the next you see of him, he is just a skull.

3) Okay this was an action movie. Very bloody and cheesy 80s stuff. It had a bunch of mercenaries coming to some kind of tropical island. I can recall one scene when a native cuts off his hand and offers it to one of them (why, I cannot remember). I also remember someone who resembles the guy who played Kano in Mortal Kombat getting a bone or something shoved through his jaw.

There was a movie that my teacher showed us in Social Studies when I was in fifth grade. It was a movie about Native Americans (I think it was Native Americans) fighting with someone else (I don't remember who). The scene I remember is when one of the other guys is with one of the Native American men, who is down on his knees. The one man grabs the hair of the guy on the ground and cuts his head off. I don't think it showed that part, but a little while later, it showed him walking off carrying the head by the hair. The only other scene I remember is at the very end it shows the head which has been put on a stick/pole. After we watched it the teacher informed us that we would be watching the next movie the following day and that in it, the Native Americans (or whoever) would be getting guns so they could fight back. I wasn't there the day the class watched it, but a girl in my class informed me that it started with a closeup of the head on the stick/pole. I've been trying to find the movie for years, but I've had no luck.

Months later but, isn't it "The Dreamstone"? Watched a lot when I was a kid, and couldn't remember the name for NOTHING too.

One that I remembered quite recently but still haven't found in my half-assed searches was a movie that featured watches that made you move incredibly fast. Like time had stopped fast. I remembered liking it. o:

That was fast.

I must have watched in theaters in 2002 because it is all very vague to me now.
Yours was a bit less vague than most of the other memories in this thread so it was pretty easy to find.

There is one.

All I can remember was it started off with a train yard with a turn table and a guy explains that the protagonist must make his way across the city to save his life. Then he sprints away from this guy to "start the game".

I was thinking of it awhile ago and thought it was running man 'cos it kind of fit but that film is way too camp.

I know this has been necro but whatever-

There was this asian film that had battling toy mechs! All I can remember was that it was made around 1970/1980's and at the start of it there were two large two helicopter that form into one big toy mech and proceed to attack this man at a mansion that had pool. Also at the near the ending, there were several toy mechs fighting the mech mention at the start of it but they were losing their numbers (getting crush easily).
