A really old Star Wars game which went through the first movie (and for some unexplainable reason, Hoth)

It was literally the first game I played, needed a joystick for the controls and everything. The newest computer it would run on was a Windows 97. Anything newer and it just wouldn't play. I got very sad when we had to get rid of the 97, but I was only using it for playing this game.
Rebel Assault?

Anyway, Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate, Kotor 2, System Shock 2...

Yeah, I suppose this needs some explanation. I have never played Myst before. My fater did, and it looked very interesting to me at the time. For a while, I had forgotten my fascination with the game. Now, I remember it and I'm trying to get Myst to work on my Vista-using computer. No dice.

Has anyone else experienced this annoyance?

[sub]Also, if anyone knows how to make Myst work on Vista, be sure to let me know, okay?[/sub]
Try running it in compatibility mode for Windows 95.

KotOR I/II.

Tried installing both.
Disaster occurred.
This. Vista really doesn't like them which is a shame since the only other time I played them was on the xbox.
Say wha...? My Vista runs both with no trouble at all.

OT : None actually. I own some very, very old games. None of your Fallout rubbish, excellent oldie that it is.

Hugo's House of Horrors. Look it up. It runs on my computer like a dream, and it must be my oldest game in the collection.

That's it, I had forgotten the name. Man this is a spin down memory lane. I was like six or something when I first played that. It was fantastic when I finally managed to finish it. The first game I got truly obsessed with.

I got thief deadly shadows a lil while back for $5 off direct2drive and couldn't get it working on vista despite my best efforts. I tried 3 different exes and even got a virtual win2000 pc running but the game detected some sort of debug or sthg and refused to run in it

If your games were made in the past 8 years, you're not thinking old enough.

1) Interstate '76
2) Harvester
3) Police Quest - Open Season
4) BLOOD
5) Witchaven
6) Battlechess
7) Flashback: The Quest for Identity
8) Betrayal at Krondor
9) Teen Agent
10) Burn:Cycle

Diablo and Diablo II, respectively.

I've been told that D2 can work on Vista (Blizzard's patched it up and everything), and it does indeed not crash, but it's always been horrifically buggy to the point where I simply couldn't play.

Diablo, though? Fat chance in hell.

That is the best brag I have heard in a while.

I didn't overly like Hugo games as a kid, but I played them for ages because it was all I had.

Splinter Cell and KOTORs don't work on Vista. Anybody know if they work on Windows 7?

Whoever was in charge of the back compatibility on Vista needs to be shot.

Dark Seed and Harvester run on DosBox... about 1/4 of the time. The other 3/4ths are pure frustration and physical violence.
