Well what are they? Me i want Sliders. I just watched the first 3 seasons and while the writing was sub-par it was funny. People from a "normal" world dealing with norms of a different society. It is great in the first season. I loved episodes where intellectualism was valued like athleticism or where women where the dominant sex. Or where U.S lost the revolutionary war.
So what are they?

Once upon a time there were rumors of Seth MacFarlane doing a remake of the musical version of Little Shop of Horrors. I'm not even a family guy fan and I would love to see how that'd be pulled off.

ReBoot needs a 2011 remake. SERIOUSLY! If you don't know it,YOUTUBE IT! It is the best (tied with Shadow Raiders, which was made by the same studio) animated show ever made.

I'd like the original Highlander to be remade. This time, let's have some sword-fighting that's actually good. And the original Princes of the Universe, not that abomination from The Source. And the original Highlander theme as well (the one that played during Connor's training montage in Scotland), while we're at it. And good actors. And let's bring back Sean Connery. Because Ramirez is boss.

Yes, I realize how pointless it would be to remake Highlander, but damn it if that franchise doesn't deserve a second movie that's actually worth a shit.

The Japanese OVA (Highlander: The Search for Vengeance) was actually pretty good. It's a feature length animated Highlander movie, and unlike the live action sequels, it was entertaining on a level other than so-bad-it's-good. I'd give you a link to a stream of it, but the only site I could find it on gives the option of downloading it outright, and I don't want to fall afoul of this site's anti piracy rules.

OT:

I can't personally stand remakes. They tend to miss the point of the original completely, and make something that is a product of it's own time. This is generally the wrong time for it to be a product of -- this is a large part of why I hated the new Battlestar Galactica. I guess if I could get something remade, it would be the 2009 Star Trek movie. I'd have it remade so the stupid thing didn't destroy the timeline of every series after Enterprise. They talk about it being an alternate universe, but we all know we're never going to get a new series in the original universe. I would have preferred to let the franchise die than see it disgraced like that.

I'm not a huge Star Trek fan so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't time always being changed all of the time? Maybe the second movie is going to be about them trying to fix time back to the way it's supposed to be.

OT: I want somebody to take another wack at making a live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender movie. Only this time maybe make it so the first movie covers half of the first season so you don't have to cram in so much crap into one movie.

Not like this. Time travel is almost always used as a way to reset things to the status quo at the end of the episode, with a few exceptions, notably Star Trek IV, where they used it as a plot device to bring back an extinct animal that was necessary to the plot of that movie, but was never mentioned before or since. With the new film, they did it so they could reboot the universe, and get rid of all of the pesky continuity that had built up over the forty or so years of the franchise's existence. They wanted to make a mass market film for people who didn't like Star Trek, and they succeeded in that, but they did it a little too well -- it was too much like Star Wars, and not enough like Star Trek, and now the official movie universe is the one of that film.

Yeah I loved that show as a kid. I can imagine cringing if I watched it now though. Jerry O'Connell.

How 'bout the the Star Wars prequels.

Tell George Lucas he can have all the money from merchandising and tell him to fuck right off and bring in real screenwriters/directors so that the result makes some lick of sense.

Arrested Development. Or is that too modern a show?
I'm not sure how you could remake that show. It was a perfect storm of writing, acting andleaving everybody wanting more. So packed with jokes and references that I laugh every time I rewatch it.

I only just got the jokes referencing The Fonz from happy days. The scene when Harry Winkler jumps the shark? Priceless. Or Scott Baio replacing him as the family laywer? Hee!

If you're aware that it's set in an alternate universe, why do you claim they destroyed the post-Enterprise continuity? And how can you claim we'll never see another original-universe series? I'd be willing to bet that, following the inevitable financial success of Star Trek XII, we'll see a new original universe series before too long (hopefully on par with TOS or Next Generation).

I'm not a huge remake fan, but personally, I would love to see a proper remake of King Kong vs. Godzilla, or any of the original four Godzilla movies for that matter.

Can't think of anything I would want re-done. I mean look at the newest Futurama for example, IMO it's just not as funny as the old episodes, I mean when you start back up with something you're trying to capture the spirit of the original stuff, which is often beyond the grasp of most writers, in Futurama's case I think they were on a roll and the unfortunate 8 year TV gap was too much to cover. It's the same reason I don't want Chappelle's Show to start up again

I believe it was removed from Youtube, but Reboot with a Reboot sounds like a good idea and I know the boys behind it have been concocting...

Anyway, I would like to see a reboot of Blake's 7...which will still feature BRIAN BLESSED in the capacity he acted last time (which was to play as someone who exploded).
