I don't quite remember it's name....
Time Commander?
It used the Rome Total War engine and made four people act as commanders of a historical army against a computer. Wasn't very popular, but it got me into history like no one's business.
Only ever heard of that...didn't that end with a loss for the humans half the time because the people playing as captains never listened to the person playing the general?
True; but often, when they did listen, it actually went very well.
Plus they tweak the damages and numbers to closer resemble historical accuracy.
I think they should have had less families on there, and more team-y things, like professors, ex-military, rugby players. But it was always the kids and the adults, and those were the episodes you just skipped.
But the idea was good; I would love to grab an Empire Total War one and do something similar.

There is one TV show that I remember liking but for the life of me I can't remember the name...it was a CGI cartoon, I think it might have been on Kids WB, I think it was about people in mech suits fighting in tournaments...that's all I remember.
This cartoon was called Heavy Gear, and it was about them fighting in arena tournaments. They had missiles and machine guns but it almost always came down to close quarters fighting.
God, I used to love that.

I know a program which no one ever seems to talk about now, but I KNOW people must have watched.
It was a Jackie Chan animated cartoon, complete with 12 magical tokens which granted you special powers.
