I cannot believe how many games on this list are games on my list
Starcraft singleplayer for me, definitely. I always get up to the Protoss campaign and fizzle out.
Final Fantasy VII and IX. At this stage i think i have to just accept i am never going back to those. VII i had some killer bug that required me to start over, and i just can't do it. IX i made it to the absolute final boss, tried fighting him once. Died, and just walked away.
Lord of the Rings: The Third Age on the PS2 is another one that had a game-killing bug.. I was at Helm's Deep and i got screwed saving my game after the bug had me trapped (but i didn't realize it.) I have to go back and start over

Don't think i ever will.
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga: I was having a blast with that one, and then my GBA with the game in it went missing. For YEARS i couldn't find the bloody thing. Then about 3 months ago my mom found it in the pocket of an old winter jacket of mine in the basement. Guess i have to finish it now

I finally called bullshit on the game and canned it after (right before finding the lab) your teammate starts jerking around all over the place, so I tested him and he passed, then 5 steps on he turns into a monster. I get pissed off, PS2 gets switched off, broken piece of shit gets to FUCK OFF.
Yeah, it does that a few times during the game, much like Bioshock 2's Big Sister attacks, they can happen anywhere but not anytime, still scripted events regardless of how much the devs tell us they're not...and if you attack the character that you know is gonna turn into a "thing" then your other buddies give you some nice new bloody bullet holes for your trouble...it is broken...but I must finish IT!
See, i loved "The Thing". Had no problems sitting through that one all the way to the end. Yeah, it kinda stank how your teammate becoming the Thing was scripted and there was nothing you could do about it, but the most annoying element of that game was figuring out that you have to crouch in order to get the flamethrower to shoot straight. Still, it was one of the first squad-based style games that i can remember playing, and it handled things pretty well.
I daresay that is THE best single videogame adaptation of movie, to date. (Though i have not played the Riddick games.)
