I can not agree with you more. I wouldn't mind bobby-joe (or whatever his name was from the clip) having a 10 min session at her.

OT: The cows ARE commodities. Not saying they should be treated the same as say a box of fruit but they are a commodity whether you like it or not. I don't agree however with the violence against them. The animals do nothing aggressive towards the employees so there is no sane reason to attack them.
We all know they are commodities and unless I skipped something no one is argueing about that yet.
The expert (aka a guy who wears a suit) in the clip used the line "they are treated like commodities rather than living breathing animals" or some such.
Thats the skipped part i mentioned.

Humans are capable of the most unimaginable acts of cruelty possible, this is not new. That being said this is why I don't have any hope for us as a whole. I try to be positive and I'm rewarded with more of this news. I really can't see any positives in humans. I don't see enough exceptions to change my views unfortunately.

Isolated incident committed by asshole.

Abused animals produce less and lower quality meats/milks/cheeses. This has been known for quite some time, and only hourly wage assholes (or people paid by "animal rights" groups so they can film it) ever engage in actions such as these.
I'll have to agree with you, that "Shocking Footage" seemed a little to fake. Camera angle and quality are not consistent with what you would use with a concealed camera, that is unless they're just dumbasses who let some random person film their everyday cruelty.
I'm sorry, what exactly qualifies you to make that kind of judgment? Do you happen to have extensive experience in the field of concealed cameras? Or are you just being cynical for the sake of cynicism?(or trolling?)

And to Hopeless Bastard: Can you actually name an incident when an animal rights group paid someone to commit animal cruelty? (No, that was actually not rhetorical. I wouldn't be too surprised if you could, I just think if you're going to make an accusation like that, you should at least back it up.) Even if you can (again, I'm not saying you can't) I still don't really get your point. We already know it was just some hourly wage asshole. The video said only one person was fired.
Camera angle was too high for purse or handbag(unless the camera operator was really tall)Quality, frames and sound are of a higher caliber than a normal cam-corder and concealable "spy-cams". Also if you let someone in to your dairy farm of discontent for a tour of the place i doubt you'll go about your normal cruelty unless your just that window lickin' retarded. Just the video set off my bs-dar. Not saying it is fake, just seems like it to me. And yes the actions in the video are still reprehensible a very awful.

Well, Ok. First of all, it is too high for a purse, but not a hat. About the sound/picture quality...I'm not sure if we're watching the same video or what, but in the one I'm seeing, there is no sound. It's muted, so you can you the newscaster talking over it. And about the quality: I've actually taken better looking videos on a camera. Not a camcorder, a regular camera that happened to take short videos. I've also seen better quality video on a cell phone, so...there ya go.(Note: I am not claiming that this makes me an expert. Feel free to inform me that I have no idea what I'm talking about.) The one thing about the video that makes no sense to me is the context for the..."investigator's"....visit, and the douchebag's willingness to commit the acts in front of them. The only somewhat reasonable expanation I can think of is...well, what you said. "Window licking retarded."

Hold on AINT THAT HOW NATURE WORKS?

On the behalf of video, those people did things wrong, they are sick, they need help but it doesn't mean everyone is doing it.

I mostly work with TV cameras so maybe im jaded but the other thing that made me go "hmmmmm" was if you showed the mug shot of the perpetrator why blur out his face in the video? Also the conversation seemed a bit one sided with the pundits they brought on, no dairy industry spin artists to do damage control? If my bread and butter was in jeopardy i would definitely jump in and start throwin some heals. Just seems all "agenda" to me.

That was just disgusting! One of the few things that CNN can get both panellists to agree on, I guess.

At least it was only the one guy that was doing it.

Fucking hilarious! LOL! The part where it lists the offenses, which are topped by "body slamming calves" really brought a smile to my face. Sorry, I just have a hard time sympathizing with hamburger meat.

So if a women had tough skin and could feel less pain it's ok to hit her because it just tingles? I doesn't matter if it hurts or not. That's hitting with the intent to cause harm in more ways then just pain. That's using your power over something that can't protect it's self and abusing it just because.
I still think the intention is cruel but the application is not. Send them to jail for intent to harm not actual harm because the cows probably weren't harmed

Also when did a woman get involved? I said panda dammit
Did you check the news report? It said they were being stabbed with pitch forks and apparently some were even killed...
If you think being stabbed doesn't hurt, then go get your head checked.
I agree with swolf.

It's pretty wrong and confusing what they're doing.

Why would they do that to their own livestock? Would it not just decrease the quality of whatever they're producing from them?

well..i do feel bad for them dont get me wrong but at the same time i relly dont care i mean if i witnissed it first hand shure id say somthing but where im currently living/working (not in the US) i cant help but not care all that much.

on a more Joking side... i say as punishment we pack the people who do this in cages and beat/tazer/body slam and Stab at them with pitch forks as Punishment for a month per animal they hurt now that would stop this crap real quick.

Sounds like some people are hankering for a captive bolt gun to the kneecaps and a stiletto heel to the testicles (like a grape *squish*). I beat my woman and my animals cause it makes me feel like a big man!

Is it just me or do the graphics at the bottom of American news programs remind you of old Geocities websites?

OMG! Graphics! Animations! LETS GET AS MANY OF THESE ON SCREEN AS WE CAN!

We're going to cut to a different camera? Perfect chance for... MORE ANIMATIONS!!!!1111

Seriously... it's insane. The news I watch here in the UK doesn't even have a 'news ticker' scrolling by at the bottom, just good, honest professional news with no showmanship or sillyness. A wee graphic and the logo at the start and end of the program. That's it.

Ah well - stay classy USA!

(Oh yeah, and the report was pretty bad, but very mild compared to the worst abuses I have seen against animals and even humans.)

Read my other posts, skin is much thicker, bones are massively stronger than ours and their pain threshold is a lot higher than ours

I also think you need to stop making assumptions before suggesting I see a psychiatrist

I'm no animal activist either, and this video doesn't bother me in the "poor cows" sense.

I'm just, once again, against all odds, speechless in the face of human stupidity. I've seen some dumb shit in my time, but somehow I'm just never able to prepare myself for the next act of human retardation, that's always lurking around the corner.
