I want people to post interesting facts about games that not many people might know. Mine is that Tetris was originally a test that the USSR used to test their astronauts, and was sold to the public when they realised how addictive it could be.

Donkey Kong got his name when Miyamoto tried to come up with an English name that communicated that this character was a stubborn gorilla. He got "Kong" for "Gorilla," and mistranslated "stubborn" to mean "donkey."

Orginally FFVII was intended for the N64 but was changed to the PS1, as the game would have required 12 cartridges to play it.

There was once a 3D reimagining of Chrono Trigger in the works, but Square shut it down (it was an independent project unauthorized by the company).

I'm guessing people already know this, but for those who don't, all two of you, there you go.

I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is impossible to complete in the German version of the game because you had to play as a Nazi scientist to complete parts of the game which the German version did not include.

Before Harmonix made Guitar Hero and Rock Band, they made FreQuency and Amplitude, two of the greatest music games ever.
