He'll be screwed when he has to hit chords with the guitar he's playing with his thumb...

and what would happen when he needs to hit two drum notes and the foot peddle?

I'm not doubting that at it's core this is an achievement, but it's not really a one man band if it has to be done within the constraints of one song on a certain difficulty.

Naturally he was missing notes with all the instruments, which is understandable, he's a person not a robot, so that part of the validity of this video is certain.

I agree with the OP, don't mind the haters, they're just people who can't fathom the power of the words "I was bored?"
I tend to just look at it as not them being haters but them being youtube posters.

Honestly who would ever take a comment from a youtube viewer serious? When I'm on youtube I'm far from being a good source of info. Course I'm just watching kittens most of the time anyways.

Did anyone else immediately think he looked like Chris Klein [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005098/]?
I was thinking this too, it was distracting me from the otherwise awesome video.

One Man Plays All Four Rock Band Instruments At Once

A Utah resident has achieved what was once thought impossible by playing all four Rock Band instruments at the same time successfully, and he's got video to prove it.

It's not that hard to play two Rock Band instruments at the same time. Anything plus vocals isn't too bad if you know the song well enough. But all four instruments - guitar, bass, drums and vocals? - that's a whole other story. Commonly determined an impossible feat by the participants of countless drunken arguments, the "one man Rock Band" has now actually been achieved by a YouTuber in Utah by the name of DarthGollumKong.

"The reason I can do this is because I was bored and interested enough to experiment with it, for just a few hours at a time," he wrote. "Just for fun."

How does he pull it off? Two guitar controllers tied at the neck, with the guitar played with a thumb on the neck and another doing the strumming while the bass is played underneath with his fingers on the neck and index on the strum. Vocals are sung into the mic which is attached to a stand, and the drums are set on the floor so that they can be played with drumsticks that are attached to the dude's shoes.

DarthGollumKong has gotten good enough to be able to three star The Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop" with everything on Medium but drums, which is pretty damn impressive. At least I think so. Unpredictably, YouTube's commenters seem to be either skeptical of the video's validity or its creator's worth as a human being in society.

"For those of you wondering about now if I have any friends, I do," DarthGollumKong said in defense of himself. "You can see me playing with them in one of my other videos."

It's okay, dude. Don't listen to the haters. We love you.

This is why Rock band doesn't interest me.

Other than the annoying peripheral incompatibility, this is a LARGE and expensive group purchase, it only pays off if you have three friends who are interested in the exact same thing which is just not the case for me and I know so many other people. I mean I can't even find a friend to play TF2 with any frequency with me.

One guitar is for me, maybe + 1 if I have a friend over but when you have 4 separate instruments it just turns into a clusterf*** trying to sort it out. It would be easier just to get real musical instruments and start a band.
There's this thing called the internet, which you can use to play other games with real live people. It's how I play Rock Band with other people.

No, it's not easier to get an instrument and start a real band. Not by a long shot. A halfway decent starter kit, guitar, bass, microphone and amplifier stack is going to cost at least a thousand dollars. Plus making music with other people is no easy feat, even if all of you can play.
Fair enough, I really was exaggerating on the "start a real band" thing as I was mainly talking in terms of organisation, plus I didn't see the same appeal with online link play. Knowing my friends if I could even convince 3 others to get Rock Band 1 or 2 we'd all probably end up buying rhythm guitars and none would agree on who should do vocals. This is the hassle I want to avoid.

See I'm only a novice with music games, I prefer the slightly more refined direction of the guitar focused Guitar Hero series. Guitar Hero also seems far more focused on content than peripherals, I mean you can apparently use the same guitar for GH2 on even the latest GH5 and RB1+2. Or maybe not.

I always felt bringing drums and vocals seems a lot more down to one-upmanship than what I'd really want out of a music game, even though GH: World Tour has followed a similar route. But that's just me, I can understand others really wanting to drum but adding vocals reminds me of Singstar (meh) and just seems to much like a karaoke bolt-on... not appealing to me.

I hope GH continues to focus mostly on the guitar. More songs, more master tracks, more downloadable flexibility. Depth, not breadth.

But that's just my opinion. You can question facts if they are wrong but let me have my opinions at least.

PS: this guy IS really good. Forgot to mention that.

I can't imagine the level of multitasking his mind has mastered.

To just absorb in the entire screen and play it out is crazy.

I don't care if he was playing everything but the drums and vocals on medium. That is still an extremely impressive talent he has there being able to coordinate 3 different instruments and memorizing the lyrics. Of course I can barely play guitar on medium so I can't insult him, even if I wanted to.

Why is this impressive? I think I'm missing something... Sure its neat that he can keep up with the song, but if you really want to impress me, hit more notes. I guess I just ask too much.
