Admittedly, they're doing it in response to the marriage of Northstar, who is also deep in the C list, and so disposable to Marvel that I think he's actually managed to be killed off and brought back as a zombie ninja at one point (though apparently he got better, and since he's an X-Man death is an even more minor inconvenience than it is for ordinary comic people).dreadedcandiru99 said:Yeah, that would be kind of a letdown. Doesn't seem worth all the press, either. "Hey, guys! One of these two characters that no non-comic book reader has ever heard of is gay! Coverage, please!"GloatingSwine said:Anyway, I hear rumours it will be Alan Scott, which is pretty disappointing firstly because they've already done a coming out story based around his family (his son Obsidian), and because he's hardly what you'd call "iconic" these days. Though I've also heard speculation that it'll be Cyborg, who is even less iconic, even if he is now apparently a founding member of the rebooted JLA. (Remember, speculators, that this is going to be a character that hasn't appeared in the rebooted DC yet).
