All I can say is Facepalm, humanity. Mind you, since they found her body lying down in the road in a NEIGHBOURHOOD, in front of a PLACE OF WORSHIP with guards patrolling (yeah right), you can probably assume she bled to death after being stabbed. Made worse that EVERYONE JUST LOOKED THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!
Also, when one of the school bus drivers found her body, people said they were all just WATCHING AROUND HER. My god... if its true then... wow. Just, Wow. Way to go...
So, what do you guys think about this guy ? Do you think its appropriate to say that god's perfect surprise is the same as getting murdered? Tell me what you guys think I should respond or react to this.
I suppose some would not really care, but at least give me an opinion, any would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
The thing that a lot of christians don't understand is that it's things like this that remind me why I am an atheist. They talk about how god has a plan and that some how it's a good thing that she bled to death from being stabbed. One of the ways I would deal with these people is to bring up the problem of evil argument.
Ask them why a just and loving god would have some other human being murder her. If it was his plan to give her the birthday present of heaven, why did he send someone else to kill her in such a brutal way? That would mean that god had someone else commit a mortal sin (thus damning them to hell) just so that this one 15 year old girl could go to heaven. That would also mean that god interfered with free will, something some christians use as a weak and flawed argument for the problem of evil.
You could also just ask them how they know that god had anything to do with it? Why couldn't it have just been some evil person acting under their own free will who murdered her for no reason? How they know that she isn't burning in a lake of fire instead of resting in heaven? How do they know any that it isn't any of the other dozen of different circumstances?
I get that it's probably just their way of not having to accept that their friend is dead and I understand praying for her and even believing that that's where she is. But to say that it was a birthday present from god to end her life at only 16 is, in my opinion, insulting to her memory.
I do not mean for anything I have said to be in any way insulting to your friend if it was. I can only imagine how hard it must be for you.
also, if you care, here's a great piece about the problem of evil
