1: "Well, for starters he didn't know he would be ressurected in three days"
2: and seeing how he was tortured for a while before that...
3: And he never "became God" he was a part of god all along.
4: And that's good for you if you would get rid of aids. And he didn't do it just to go to heaven he did it because he truelly cared for the human race, something that not many people can say these days.
1: That is an assertion you know you can't make.
2: Hell is supposed to be infinitely more painful than anything you can endure in life. Just saying...
3: Then how could he have not known he would be resurrected from Hell and given his place in heaven again.
4: You're right, he did it because he had hope and innate love for the human condition. Something he demonstrated by bleeding for our 'sins'. Would i not demonstrate my hope and innate love for the human condition by truly sacrificing myself to oblivion in an effort to remove some small portion of our suffering?
My point is, if you get past the catch phrases that sound moving and great like "He died on the cross for our sins", the story falls apart and leaves you scratching your head saying wtf.
I don't have a problem with you believing in a god of any kind, just don't bring it to my doorstep, because the leap of faith away from the firm ground of logic is the one area i can't fallow indiana jones.
