the force isn't a spell.the following is ripped straight from wikipedia so if it's wrong go fix it. the Force is first described by Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi as an energy field created by all living things, that surrounds and penetrates living beings and binds the galaxy together. so according to this the force is actually star wars equivalent to mana force abilities would be spells.
