For real life, I'd take a single-shot grenade launcher, maybe an M79. Shotgun-style, you know. You have to reload it for every single shot, but I'm assuming unlimited ammo means I can just keep pulling the trigger and it'll keep firing said ammo out of hammerspace. I think it's important to keep the weapon small, though, while still remaining as effective as possible. It's harder to hold a massive rocket launcher than many FPS characters suggest it is, so it would be much more helpful when confronted with a large number of monsters to have something you can actually carry and shoot easily.

If allowed any weapon, I'd go for the Spider Mine Layer from Unreal Tournament 2004. It shoots powerful mines, yet instead of just lying there, the mines actually hop up and chase your enemies once they get close enough, even going as far as jumping up at them. Spamming these things out into a crowd would certainly be entertaining.
