That's exactly what a lot of conservatives want people to believe.

See, if they can convince people that everyone lacks logic to an equal extent, they can say whatever kinda crazy shit they want and get away with it. As long as people aren't busy actually judging what's going on, and think 'all politicians are corrupt' or 'Democrats and Republicans are basically the same--they're just incompetent in different ways' or some other kind of stance that doesn't allow one party to suffer a judgment any more harsh than than the other--even when the facts support that judgment--they can get away with all kinds of shenanigans and never get called on it.

Firstly, Bill Maher is awesome. Secondly, republicans seem to have a tendency to not question anything their party says. They have a good deal of batshit talk show hosts who will make up things on the fly in order to convince people of their opinions. And the sheeplike masses listen to them. I'm glad to be a Democrat. We're suspicious enough of our own party. There's no danger of us being that ignorant and misled.

McCain, by the way, was born in Panama, he is still a naturalized American citizen, due to the fact that he was the son of a naval officer that was sent to Panama. I don't know, I just find it ironic that the birthers (the people claiming Obama was born in Kenya) are claiming that Obama shouldn't be president, as it would, arguably, make more sense to say McCain wasn't born in the US, and doesn't qualify (I think the whole thing is just completely silly, and stupid.)

And, 42%, really? I don't know, that statistic just seems, inaccurate. Though, then again, many people are leaving the republican party, leaving only the hardcore, overzealous right.

Obama had to get clearance from the FBI, NSA and CIA before they tell him anything (before World War 2, military intelligence took FDR off the list of people with top secret clearance temporarily because he threw away a document deemed classified in a waste bin) so they would have said something by now.

Real Time with Bill Maher isn't exactly like the Daily Show or Colbert Report. He does start every show off with a bit of stand up, but the majority of his show consists of interviews with legitimate political figures. One interview one on one, sometimes with a high profile figure. The second half of his show is composed of a panel debate, again featuring legitimate political figures. He generally tries to have both liberals and conservatives, political authors, news figures (from Televised and Written news sources), governors, sometimes he'll have a more politically minded actor or musician on the panel too. There are lots of funny moments, but there is a lot of serious debate that goes on too.
