Most of the gamers I know are generally guys - I live in a very small country although I've heard of girl gamers being better in some ways e.g paying more attention to detail as compared to guys e.g more aggressive(?)
I want to know what you guys think. Doesn't have to be any specific genre but maybe better to first mention the genre.
I heard somewhere that women have marginally slower reaction times but higher accuracy. But this experiment was not in games, but with a lightgun shooting at a target. Holding a controller is different from holding a gun and looking at a screen so it may make no difference.
Truth is ANYONE can kick your ass in a game. Young, old, male, female. If they have dedicated themselves to it. It just may be people remember getting their ass kicked by a girl more often.
More important factors:
-good sleep
-good nutrition
-physically active
-dedication
Now if females for whatever reason do these more than males, then they might have and edge. I know when I eat bad and sleep little I can just FEEL myself slipping, I do dumb mistakes and am like "Why did I do that? How did I forget that? Where did that rocket come from?".
The worst thing I do is I see something I shouldn't shoot, decide "hmm, better not shoot that" and still like a fraction of a second later I've shot it and I'm like "WHYYYY BRAIN! Aiming cortex, I asked for speed but you betrayed logic orders! RUARGHHH!".
Women might be physically fitter for social pressures, and might sleep better because... I dunno.
Sleep is the major one though.
Also putting more hours into any one game you will be way better. Women more committed to one game?
