It was a decent but extremely generic action RPG with a somewhat interesting premise that never wound up amounting to much. The story and the lore were both boring and I pretty much forgot about it the moment I put it down.

Oh, and I didn't like the camera.

It was ok, however I never finished it because it was one of those games that suffered from being too open ended. The game honestly felt like I was playing an MMORPG in which I was the only player on the server. Good concept, just really fell kind of flat in keeping me engaged, it's one of those games that I keep planning to go back to in order to finish, but I doubt I ever will.

I liked it, A fun and somewhat simple game. Good for chilling out on a lazy afternoon.

I'm of 2 minds about it.

The combat was fun and stompy (played a Might and sorcery based build which was tons of fun) but alot of the quests were just...well...boring. The lore and the world really werent all that engaging either, and the art design (except for Rathir and Adessa which were fucking boss) was just bland.

Overall I liked the game, but it seems like it just missed the mark form being a "good" RPG to a "Great" one. However, for their first project, i'd say its damn good way to start off. Too Bad 38 got shut down...

I had this on preorder the moment I saw the first trailers for it and it didn't disappoint me. I beat EVERYTHING in that game DLC included (except one sidequest that glitched out on me). I loved the art style too. It felt much more like a fantasy world than Skyrim or the Witcher 2 ever did. I don't mean that as an insult as I love those games but their worlds looked much more realistic but with fantasy elements added which sometimes got dull for me. Given the choice between realism and something more stylized I will almost always go for the latter. It's just more interesting to look at.

Also the combat, my god that was fun. Combat was the one thing that the Elder Scrolls games can't seem to make fun. Or at least more interesting than swing, swing, fireball, block, etc.

I played the demo and didn't like it at all. For one, I really despise the art style. I'm not sure how accurate my description is, but it seemed a little World of Warcraft-y. Too cartoonish for my liking, with the big bulky armour and over-sized swords and stuff. Just ew. The gameplay, from what I remember, was also very standard. So standard that I can't remember what it was like. I can't remember the voice acting, but it was probably competent. Can't really mention the story as I only played the demo.

Suffice to say, it didn't make me buy the full game. To me, it just seemed boring, mediocre and with a terrible art style. So yeah.

I never bought the game, but I absolutely hated it from the demo.

The art style bored me to tears as did the story and lore, but the worst offender was all the bugs. I had NEVER played a more buggy demo of a game. At one point I walked into an area and the sound completely cut out, and never came back. I kept playing because I figured the sound wasn't all that important (and I was actually somewhat thankful for it considering I found most of the voice acting absolutely horrid), but then when I talked to one of the NPCs suddenly the game decided that I wanted to skip through all the dialogue at lightening speeds, and again this continued to happen with all NPCs from that point on.

There was no way I was going to buy the game after that.

I REALLY enjoyed the game.

Hopefully EA, or another company, will learn from KoA:R and copy & improve some of the game play from it.

Those charaka(sp?) were FUN to use, and pretty too.

I loved the whole destiny (chose a card) type of system.

Being able to re-roll your character at any point, and even the various ways you could make weapons.

Not seeing the MMO comparisons really...I mean it looks like WoW but the side quests are no worse than the radiant quests in Skyrim, the fleshed out ones (eg. the Spider Queen one) are just as good as the bigger fleshed out ones in Skyrim.

I had to dig really hard into a my memory to remember how I feel about this game, which is typically not a good thing. I remember a completely off it's ass 'you are the chosen one' cookiecutter plot, a very anti-climatic end boss fight, and classes so generic I forgive my memory for being a tad rusty. The combat is adequate at best, but very unimaginative and bland, like the lore and pretty much everything else about this game

Oh, and I remember Yahtzee calling it 'baby's first Skyrim' , which I thought was a very aptly way of putting it

I only recommend it if you're a PC only gamer, that has completely run out of things to play and doesn't mind wasting a few hours on something they'll probably forget about next week

Really enjoyed it myself, the art style and combat were exceptional. It would be a crying shame if the lore and IP weren't continued by another company as the potential is there for something very special indeed.

I gave it a shot after all the reviews raved about it, comparing to Skyrim as an action-heavy, better combat alternative. And although the combat does beat the crap out of Skyrim, the story and sidequests and everything else was just tedious beyond belief. I got about 12-15 hours or so into it, then the combat started to bore me. And it seemed a bit too...'spaced-out', for an action RPG I was hoping for something more along the lines of Torchlight, where you can just about skip over the narrative and get further along with the killing. The weapons are cool, and the combat was very involving, I just hope someone else picks up where this developer lets off because it had mountains of potential.

The demo was horribly broken and glitchy.
It's perfectly fine if you didn't like the game regardless, but just want to say the full game is no where near as broken as the demo.

I thought it was awesome the first 10 hours, then it just felt more and more dull. Haven't played it since close to release, so I don't remember much more than that.

I loved my first playthrough, but found little reason to give it a second go and that is a shame. A bit more randomness in the areas and items, would have gone a long way!

I love doing sidequests. They're like... a... side nibble? Or potatoes? No, red cabbage! Sidequests are like red cabbage and the main quest line is like the meat.

In KoA I fucking binged on red cabbage and now the meat has gone cold in a pool of congealing gravy. Basically it is a game for bulemiacs.

^ Not an exaggeration.
There are a disgustingly huge amount of side quests.

Example: Each zone is around half the size of a province in skyrim, each zone can have anywhere from (guesstimating) 14-20 side quests.

If you talk to every yellow exclamation you see your quest log will fill up very very quickly.
