I live in semi-arid chaparral, right next to a pair of deserts. I love rain, and overcast skies in general; it means the sun isn't going to be blaring, and the air will be cooler and fresher.
The only time I ever came to dislike rain was being in Japan during the summer, when it could rain at literally any moment while having absolutely no effect on the (humidity-enhanced) hot temperature.
This is exactly my situation. I grew up in Southern California, in rural chaparral, and rain felt like a rare miracle to be treasured. I loved it more than anyone else did and could never understand why they always complained.
Now I live in Northwest Florida and rain feels like the weather is sneezing or having some other biological function...
