as a huge TS fanboy, if and when TS4 is announced. if you listen carefully, you'll be able to hear me cheering. i just hope it's not another COD/BF clone.

My friend and I spent a large portion of our time on Timesplitters 2. I think we beat the entire game on the hardest difficulty or something.

I love the game for its co-op experience. Halo and Timesplitters are the two FPS games that have eaten up tons of my time in their co-op modes. Split screen play just doesn't exist in the same way anymore.

I loved the first and couldn't stand the later ones. Giving characters different stats was the dumbest thing they ever did.
You could turn those on and off if I remember correctly.
I wouldn't know, only a friend had them. I only owned the first one.

I'd love to say Crytek UK are working hard on TS4 but two art directors came in to my University last week and confirmed that they're working on Homefront 2. Really? A sequel to a somewhat cack IP instead of a new sequel to one of the most fun and funky FPS series of recent generations...

I live out in the country where it can be hard to get things. I was in a group of friends, about 6 of us. Only one of us had a PS2. We used to all go around to his house, hire out TimeSplitters 2, and play for 2 days straight. Honestly TS 2 is one of my favourite games.

Is Timesplittler that one arcade game? The one with the gun cons, the really good ones?
That's Time Crisis.

OT: I got Future Perfect in a big box of games I got from a friend (including a SNES!), and I've enjoyed it. I haven't played nearly as much as I should, partially due to the lack of a good gaming buddy, but what I have played, I've loved.

I'm hoping they're just waiting so they can make TS4 a launch title for the next generation of consoles.

Until then I'm hoping Crytek gets on the HD rerelease bandwagon and makes a Timesplitters HD Collection.

Agreed. But lo and behold they fixed it for 3 :D

Timesplitters is the best shooter ever made. Every shooter comes up against it, none have surpassed it in every way.

The campaign on 2 is hard. There is a big jump between easy and normal. And one checkpoint per level has created many a rage moment... Still! Its great that the level opens up more the higher up in difficulty you go, wish more games did that.

Plus each mission was a nod to various films and games :) The realisation of what neo tokyo is inspired by... epic in a box.

Plus the multiplayer is just the best, and challenges.

TLDR: My suggestion, get TS3 - better in every way. Its STILL great fun to play to this day with friends, both gamers and non-gamers :)

Absolutely love good ole' Timesplitters. No other FPS game does Zombie killing or LAN/splitscreen multiplayer as well. Could play the campaign for Future Perfect over and over...

Damn shame Free Radical went under. Hopefully the guys at CryTec UK will do something about the lack of 'Splitters in this modern market.

but i never play 2 because of the shit aiming system

I'm happy and relieved to report that I'm now tackling the last level of the second game on Normal Difficulty. It was still frustrating, but it's almost over and I'll never play the story again.

Already have it! :D

EDIT: Nevermind, I BEAT IT! Now to recover before deciding if I should really do Arcade and multiplayer. I have school work I should have been doing and I have no real incentive to do multiplayer without actual people. I will check them out at some point in time, it's a matter of when.

As great as the challenges are you should really just go ahead and jump onto Future Perfect, it has pretty much everything that was awesome from 2 but better, also the story mode on that one is WAAAAY better than the previous 2.

Fuckin' love me some Timesplitters. I remember playing through with my brother when I was like, 10. Used more tactics in those games than I do in most "Tactical shooters" nowadays.
Plus, multiplayer was fun as balls. Chocolate coated marshmallow flavoured balls.
What this guy said. Don't think I can come up with a better allegory than "chocolate coated marshmallow flavoured balls." Also, the single player is fantastic in Future Perfect.

I only played Future Perfect. It's the only FPS I really enjoyed and the only one I would replay.I hope to play the other entries some day.

The original game was the only one I have played and it was god awful for the day and is still god awful for today. Ive heard its gotten a lot better over the years but Im not really into the slow based FPS games anymore. If Im going to play an FPS (especially in multiplayer) I need it to be fast and tactical like Tribes ascend

Easily one of my favourite FPS's ever, I still fire up the multiplayer every so often. I really miss bots in modern games. Yeah, the story isn't great but you're not really playing TS2 for the story. There's the challenges, arcade leagues, arcade matches, MapMaker, a whole host of features and content to keep you amused. Took the Goldeneye template and improved on it twentyfold. Some people say that Goldeneye is one of the best FPS's ever, I say that TimeSplitters 2 beats it over the head with a monkey.
