Why should we care about this? Because it might, apparently, stick a splinter in the thumb-nail of hardcore gaming. There's small speculation that Oprah will use her rank in society to advertise the Wii, making the market for Sony and Microsoft shrink until Nintendo buys them both over. But is this just stupidity, or should we all genuinely give a shit about what console a talk show host buys?

Saw this on G4, but by god Oprah DON'T MENTION THIS ON YOUR SHOW!~!!

It'll make the shortage of Wiis even more horrid and give Nintendo a bigger reason to ignore their original fans!

your not going to see oprah playing mgs4 then saying it the top family console! Old women need their kids to shut their yap and when they see oprah doing it they conclude they like oprah, oprah likes wii, wii is game kids like games..

For some reason i pictured Oprah comming onto stage drunk with a Wii,
"EVERYONE BUY A F-ING WII RIGHT F-ING NOW! IT'S F-ING BRILLIANT!"

Sad thing is, people would then. Sheep.

"Hey girls! Well, I just wanted to tell you that I got a new game station today! You see, it's called the Nintendo Wii and it uses motion control when you're playing games! Now, I had alot of fun with this, it really brought me and my kids together! *creepy giggle that sounds suspiciously evil*"

Que soccer moms feet stamping on the ground to get to the nearest game store.

*shudder*

You know it's going to happen. *sigh* Someone feel sorry for us Gamestop employees (college part timer) this holiday season, yet again.

I don't think this really affects 'hardcore' gamers, but JESUS CHRISTMAS!! Now millions of American housewives are going to buy a Wii! Talk about shortage!?

Oh god, you seriously have my condolences. Soccer mom Oprah watchers in a game store? Oil and fucking water! I'm just glad I'm not in those shoes.... I could just see it....

----

Soccer mom: Oprah says that this "Wii" is a wonderful game system for the whole family....

Me: Ugh.... Oprah says huh?

Soccer mom: Yeah... none of the games that teach kids to be criminals. You know the one, right?

Me: If you're talking about grand theft auto, I've played it.

Soccer mom: Oh my, you need god. Oprah found god. Oprah IS god!

Me: Hey speaking of god, I think I'll go see him now.... *puts a gun in his mouth and pulls the trigger*

------

Yeah, I don't like soccer moms too much.... Have some fun with them and recommend them a wholesome copy of Manhunt 2. Mwa ha ha.

It's more like they just come in say things like:

"I hate to ask a stupid question..."

or

"I know it's a long shot..."

Seriously, some days, if they start off with that, we just say "No, we don't have any Wiis, we don't know when we will get more, most likely next week, here's our card *hands cards* have a good day."

I mean, even if we do have Wiis I think a few times I have turned people away on accident because I'm just so programmed at this point to say "No Wiis".

I also hate it when DS Lites sell out when we tell people thinking about it now to get it or they won't find them. I could list some REALLY funny (and sad) Gamestop stories if people were interested.

AND YOU ALL GET ONE!!!!!!!!

Yeah this is going to end up on Oprah's favourite list thing and she's going to give it to a couple hundred soccer mums and word of mouth will sell even more consoles.

Nothing can stop the Nintendo/Oprah tag team, nothing!

Maybe we should make Conan O'Brien mention the Wii on his show, then things would probably even out.

Yeah... you're probably not going to get the joke if you don't watch the show...

I like the fact that games are getting popular these days but... Oprah? This is Nintendo's fault for advertising to all ages. They just want to rule the world now.
